Chapter 2 ~ No letter?

~ Third Person ~

The days went by quickly as the holidays past, though something was bothering Lily..

"It's been weeks.. shouldn't it be arriving by now..?"

Lily sent a letter to Phoebe more than 2 weeks ago, it takes a week for the letter to get to the university and another week to receive it from there. Knowing Phoebe, she'd write back the moment she finishes reading it. "That's weird.." Lily thought.

~ Time skip ~

January 6, 2024

Lily was rushing through the hallway, going straight into their dormitory "It's open!" She thought as she entered. She looked to her left and saw a dim light coming out of the slightly opened door of Phoebe's study.

"Phoebe!!"

No answer.

"Phoebe..?!"

Still no answer.

"PHOE-"

"I heard you." Phoebe finally replied.

"Then why didn't you answer??" Lily said placing her baggage beside her bed. "I was.. deep... in thought." Phoebe slowly replied for she heard Lily's footsteps getting closer. As Lily entered the study, Phoebe suddenly stood up and turned "Anyway, welcome back!" she said with a smile.

Lily was surprised with the sudden change of her attitude but smiled back and hugged her. She was about to ask Phoebe something but Phoebe beat her to it. "Are you tired?" Phoebe asked "Very." Lily replied with a chuckle, before Lily could say anything else Phoebe said "Then we'll arrange your stuff tomorrow. Have you eaten yet?" "Yeah-" she didn't get to finish her reply when Phoebe quickly said "Great! Let's sleep, I'm beat!".

They both got ready for bed.

"I'll ask her tomorrow.." were Lily's thoughts before drifting to sleep.

I was sitting at the garden's tea table alone, a bit saddened that I won't be going back to the university early, as per my Uncle's request. "Probably because he has less paperwork to go through with me here." I thought. It's not like I mind though.

Anyway, closing my eyes I picture myself entering our dorm room..

Opening the white double door with golden handles, seeing the golden carpet, white walls and black ceiling, to be greeted by the large window with its black curtains tied to each side behind the brown couch showing a nice view of the forest. On the left side of the couch is a double decker bed, the top deck where I sleep is filled with my framed drawings of magical formulas up to the highest parts of the wall, with dark red pillow covers and black bedsheets. At the bottom bed you'll see light brown pillow covers and old rose colored bedsheets with a few arranged plushies, Phoebe's bed. On the right of the couch you'll see a single bed with light green pillow covers and white bedsheets, with beautifully took photos of beautiful landscapes, plants and animals pinned to the walls of Lily's bed. From the door look to your left and you'll see Phoebe's study that's usually open, where stacks of books and research papers are to be seen. On the right you'll see a tall and wide white wooden cabinet, where we put all our belongings.

If you're wondering where we bathe and eat, there are separate places for that. There are four bathrooms and a large cafeteria in each floor.

The school's property is massive.

~ Third Person ~

"Haaaaaaaahhhhhhh, I wanna go back.." Melanie says out loud leaning back on the chair she's sitting on.

Melanie flinched.

"Whining again?" a tall muscular man with black hair and ruby like eyes wearing a slightly opened black robe appeared behind her without a single sound.

"I TOLD YOU TO STOP DOING THAT!!!"

She then sits properly. The man frowned "Is that a how you talk to your elders? Or do you just not respect me?" She didn't answer. The man pats her head rather roughly "Oww!!!" Melanie yelled in annoyance, the man just chuckles.

Back at the University.

Lily woke up alone in their dorm, after getting ready, she tried looking for Phoebe but failed so she ate breakfast alone. While eating a girl with red hair and hazel eyes wearing a purple coat approached her.

"..."

"Could this day get any worse..?"

Aella Alohi Tempest, 20 years old, a second year college student of "The United University of Magic". A so called "prestigious" school filled with commoners. The old hag that runs this school somehow finds this amusing, while for me it's just pathetic.
