Conundrum

One day has passed, the two are still training like their lives are at stake.

"My body feels so sore." Jian Liu complains while struggling to keep the planking position.

"Master, I can't do it anymore!" Jian Liu cries.

"You brat, we're not even a half a minute." Zhuyun tapped his cane on the ground.

This planking is an advanced method taught by Zhuyun because when your feet were supposed to be touching the ground, he ordered the two to raise it.

An average person can hold their feet for 10 to 50 seconds while an above average person can do 60 or more.

Liang Sun might be silent, but his face says it all.

He's struggling to keep it as well, but after knowing that the sword chose him.

He cannot fail such tasks.

Liang Sun's breathing is becoming shallow as this goes on.

40 seconds in and Jian Liu stops.

"I can't. Too hard." He sat, gasping.

"Grab some towels, for two." Jian Liu immediately stood up to get some while Liang Sun was still planking.

"Liang Sun, do you know the story about a lost sword style in murim?"

Murim, a world of martial artist. Even though swordsmanship isn't an unarmed combat. It's still a part of Murim.

"No, I'm shut in for 16 years." Liang Sun replied.

"Shut in? I see." Zhuyun was taken aback.

"Have you heard about the celestials?" That word made Liang Sun's body limp.

60 seconds in, he falls on the ground.

"I've heard of it. My grandpa told me about their great beings." When Liang Sun said that, Zhuyun laughed.

"Great beings? By the heavens, no. These godlike beings are not what you think." Zhuyun tone changed all of a sudden.

"But how could that be?" Liang Sun sat and looked at Zhuyun who was looking at the sky.

"Tell me!" Liang Sun raised his voice.

Zhuyun stops looking at the sky, the silence between the two is uncanny.

"I'm asking you about the Moonlit because it's connected with the celestials." Zhuyun finally replied.

"Celestials broke it. Because they saw it as a threat in their line." He added.

"Listen well, young man. I'll tell you the story about how a celestial person fell in love with a human." As soon Zhuyun was about to tell a story, Jian Liu came just in time.

He was holding a stacked towel and clothes.

"Story? Sign me up." He rushed to grab a pair of small chairs while leaving the towel outside.

Jian Liu quickly goes back along with the chair as the two sit while looking at Zhuyun.

"Oh, shoot." Jian Liu goes back into the house to grab a bigger chair and some oolong tea for Zhuyun.

It didn't take long for Zhuyun to start.

The story starts way over bi century. Way over before Zhuyun Xuanwei was born. But not too far because Xianfeng was crafted prior to the great war, but that goes for later.

Lian was a beautiful princess from the far north, that's also the place where Xianfeng came.

But she wasn't simply beautiful, she's also strong. By that I mean, very strong.

She was considered one of the strongest in the murim and swordsmanship. With her quick wits and pure talent. She could defy anyone, she was carefree.

That's when Lian met a guy named Wei. From a simple glance, the guy was just a frail one. But she knew that something was different from the guy.

That's why Lian decided to invite Wei to the mountains.

"Wei, why don't you stop your pathetic act?" Lian said as she held her sword.

"Your weak facade? You think I wouldn't know about it?" She continued as she pointed the sword at Wei.

"Facade? Milady, I don't know what you are talking about. I'm simply an ore examiner." He said as the glasses in his eyes adjust lightly downward.

The blueish hair of Wei waves in the air as he fixes his gaze at Lian.

"You're beautiful even when you're mad." He flirted.

When he thought Lian was about to get flustered by those words, all he received was Lian rushing towards him at insane speed.

Within seconds, Lian managed to close the gap.

She tried to slash Wei, but he smiled as he grabbed the sword's blade with his bare hand.

Lian couldn't believe what happened as Wei's hand was completely fine after holding a strike from one of the strongest strikes from the continent.

Lian immediately backs away from Wei.

"I knew it." She smugged, taking this as her win.

Wei was shocked at first but laughed in return, finding this amusing.

"Who really are you?" Lian calmed down and put her sword away.

"I told you, I'm Wei. An ore examiner."

"No shot, tell me." Lian was showing not a single ounce of doubt in her words.

She knew Wei wasn't a simple person, not a mere ore examiner.

"I can't. Maybe next time." Wei sticks his tongue out to annoy Lian before disappearing in thin air.

Even though Lian saw a lot of fast people, nothing was compared to Wei.

Because of this encounter, Wei has been stuck in Lian's mind for quite a long time.

Until one day, it was a rainy day.

Lian was minding her own business at an inn when suddenly, a group of feilong showed up outside.

Feilong, a warrior for peace. They're considered the last line of defense of the kingdom. They're also strong, being a feilong is the highest position you could attain in serving the kingdom.

This has caused a commotion and alarmed Lian.

She quickly suits up and heads outside to check what's going on.

"Excuse me, what's going on?" She said.

The feilong gave her a sour look, The feilong now rolls the scroll and reads it out loud.

"I, hereby declare. Lian, one of the warriors of the kingdom. Charge for treason." When Lian heard that, she could feel that the world had forsake her.
