Zhuyun Xuanwei immediately felt pain after excessing too much force on the sword play.
"My back!" He groaned as he dropped the sword and held on his cane dearly.
Jian Liu rushed to aid the old man as he went back to sitting on the edge.
"If you're that great, why are you hiding in such a compressed home?" Liang Sun asked.
"It's a choice. Most masters would want people to worship them but I'm not like the rest. I just want to have a peaceful life." He looked at Jian Liu while saying this.
"Are you two really just master and disciples?" Liang Sun asked another question.
In his mind, the way the two acts can only be seen if they're your relative.
"Wait. You didn't know?" Jian Liu looked at Liang Sun, shocked.
"How am I supposed to know? All you talk about is being great!"
"Well, you do have a point." Jian Liu said.
All this time, Liang Sun had no idea that Jian Liu comes from the blood of a great swordsman.
"Now you know, I'm the great Jian Liu!" Jian Liu chortle.
As soon as he said that, the cane struck his shin.
"I'm sorry, okay? I won't brag anymore. Jeez." He rubbed his aching shin.
"Young man, are you sure you want to take this arduous path?" The old man looked at Liang Sun, eye to eye.
"Yes, master." He said with full resolve.
The old man couldn't help but to laugh.
"You really remind me of him."
"Oh, him? You mean Yu Feng?" Jian Liu tilted his head, racking up possible names.
"We don't talk about Yu Feng, it gets my blood boiling." The old man's mood sours after hearing that name.
Because of that, Liang Sun curiosity peeked.
He wanted to meet Yu Feng.
"Grab some swords at the back and get changed." Zhuyun heads inside the house, followed by the two.
Liang Sun and Jian Liu enter the tiny home of Zhuyun in which they see a box full of sharp blades.
As they roam their eyes on the sword, Liang Sun was captivated by one sword.
He immediately grabbed it and observed its features.
A clean, sharp blade. Along with white tassel on it. The sword is also thin.
"That's a katana but not a normal one. The real name of this one is called Xianfeng." Jian Liu said.
Xianfeng is translated to Vanguard.
The distinguishing features are like an eye candy to Liang Sun.
He couldn't help but to feel a connection with the sword.
"Gramps said that one day this sword will choose its owner. We thought Yu Feng was chosen but surprisingly not." Jian Liu added.
The old man goes to check on them, but he suddenly stops on his tracks as he sees Liang Sun holding the Xianfeng.
"Boy, that's dangerous. You might get cursed." The old man immediately grabbed the sword away from Liang Sun.
"The more you hold onto this sword, the more you'll get addicted to it." He warned.
"Do you feel anything bad when you touch the sword?"
"Nothing. Somehow, I feel like the sword is telling me something." Liang Sun said while holding his chin, trying to think of anything else he could add.
"Nothing? Are you sure?" The old man asked once again.
"Yu Feng started going berserk when he touched that sword. Going mad like saying he's not worthy. Something like that." Jian Liu said.
"But Liang Sun was completely fine after holding the sword." Jian Liu started to doubt the sword that's why he tried to touch it.
But the moment he made contact with the blade, He started to feel a headache.
"That sword really is cursed!" Jian Liu rubs his forehead, trying to ease the pain.
"Why aren't you feeling anything bad then?" Liang Sun looked at Zhuyun.
"That's because if you're a sword master, you're not easily cursed by these weapons. Though, we cannot wield weapons like this despite the title." Zhuyun said while holding the sword in both of his hands.
"By looking at it. The sword has chosen you." Zhuyun said which surprised the two disciples.
"However, you're still not worthy to wield it." Which breaks the momentary joy of Liang Sun.
"Being worthy doesn't mean you have the power to wield it completely. You have to show it. Why–you're worthy." Those cold lines send shivers in Liang Sun's spine.
Thus, the training began, the two started on fortifying their mind before wielding the sword.
"Your mind is one of the most important factors in battle, being mentally prepared can help you a lot because it can defeat things such as fear." He walks in a circle as the two meditate.
The two proceed to do some workouts to strengthen their body.
"Having your body in perfect condition is also an important factor. You can't simply wield a sword if you're a limp. This is reality, throw your fantasies away." He said.
This rigorous activity proceeded up until dawn, the two didn't even realize it as they rest on the ground, gasping.
"Good, this is just the start. Have a break before changing clothes." The old man heads inside the house first, leaving the two lying on the ground outside.
"Jian, who really is your grandpa?" Liang Sun said while placing his hand on his chest, gasping.
"Zhuyun Xuanwei, the Divine Wind." Jian Liu turned his head to look at Liang Sun.
"I wanted to become the greatest swordsman because of who grandpa is. Even though he couldn't be the best. I will be, for him." He turns to face the starry night and puts his arm in the air, closing it as if grabbing the stars.
"Let's aim for it then." Liang Sun said.
"What?"
"Being the strongest in Murim." Liang Sun smiles while saying it.
"Yeah, let's do that." Jian Liu smiles back as the Liang Sun raises his hand in the air and the twi fist bump.
