The next day

Tae woke up with swollen eyes, he didn't have a good sleep, and his panda eyes were enough to prove that. He did his morning routine and went to school without a single word exchanged between his parents, who were still at cold ends with eachother..

At the entrance he saw Jimin waiting for him with a concerned look, and tapping his feet non stop while ru being his thumb on his chin as if deep in thoughts..

Park Jimin

Tae are you alright? You look tired..

Kim Taehyung

I'm fine chim.. (he looked down)

Taehyung muttered with a raspy tone, it was evident that his throat was sore after all the sobbing last night, Jimin felt guilt trap him..

Park Jimin

Did uncle scold you a lot?? *It's my fault, I should have been careful with my phone or else Tae won't have been hurt*

Kim Taehyung

(nods) Don't worry I'm used to his words, they don't affect me that much now

Kim Taehyung

*I'm just worthless...I should not burden chim anymore saying what dad told me yesterday *

Kim Taehyung

Hey let's go...the class is starting (he dragged Jimin holding onto his shoulder)

All his dad's words were like daggers to Tae, he never spoke with filters and was too brutally honest, and even said things that were unnecessary and could hurt the teenager.. his words stilled echoed in Tae's mind..

That day at lunch Tae was sitting at one of the tables waiting for Jimin, then a girl with blonde highlights approached him, Taehyung recognized her face, she was one of his classmates..

Girl: Taehyung I had feelings for you since middle school, will u be my boyfriend? (the girl was blushing heavily)

Taehyung was used to getting such proposals every next week, but even though he rejected them girls still swarmed over him..

Being the gentleman he is, Taehyung didn't want to upset the girl and create a scene in the canteen itself. He was sure that he couldn't afford to be in relationships in such an important year of his academics so, instead of declining right at the moment, Taehyung decided to give himself some time to reject the proposal humbly..

Kim Taehyung

Ahm, well can u give me sometime to think, I'll give you a reply tomorrow.. (gives a tight smile)

Girl: okay, take your time, I'm in the class next to yours, (and she fled away nervously)

Park Jimin

So you got another proposal today eh?! You sure are famous for your visuals and grades..

Kim Taehyung

yeah (says bluntly) I don't see that as an advantage though, feels like a pain, and this neverending expectations from everyone to do good in every test just drives me crazy!

Park Jimin

Don't push yourself too much, just try your best and everything will be fine.. (hits Tae's shoulder playfully)

Next day Tae rejected the girl's proposal saying that this year being the last year of high school he can't take risk to spend time in a relationship rather than studying

That girl became upset and walked away, however she spread rumors that Tae was an average student and that his dad bribed the teachers to give him concessions in the test

Taehyung was a self conscious and felt uncomfortable and out of place when too many people stared at him.. He was used to those stares of admiration, but these stares were different, they were eof hatred and disgust..

The next week as Tae entered the school, he saw that people were glancing at him and whispering to eachother, he was bombarded with this sudden hatred that he didn't know why he was receiving..

Jimin came to him panting saying

Hey Tae, huff.. huff.. do You know anything about what's going on about you?

Kim Taehyung

No I don't have any clue! what happened?!

Park Jimin

Someone spread rumors that your dad bribed the teachers for good grades!

Kim Taehyung

What?!? That's absolutely bullshit! who the hell did that?? (bursts out in anger)

Park Jimin

No idea, let's inform the teachers..

Kim Taehyung

yes

They went to the staff room to complain about the situation, the head teacher consoled them saying that such rumors don't last long, and advised Tae to do well in the next test to prove them all wrong..

Tae and jimin now just hoped for the best

When the next terms arrived, Tae was ready to set his answer scripts on fire (to get the best grades) however his luck didn't favor him, he caught viral fever on the very first day of the exam and was told to stay at home for other students' safety..

After the exams when he went to school, he was mocked by his fellow classmates about the fact that he's just a loser who left the battlefield on the sight of the enemy..

Tae let's go somewhere else, where there is no one

Jimin tried to distract the broken boy, it wasn't necessary that toppers need to score the best marks all the time, their health can also sometimes pose a threat in their academics and that was Tae's situation right now..

Jimin dragged Taehyung to the terrace where Taehyung crouched down to his knees and pulled them close to his chest, sobbing profusely.. Jimin never saw his soulmate crying like a baby till that day..

Park Jimin

Tae, don't think too much about this, just forget what they said, I can't see you like this (wipes tears from Tae's cheeks)

Kim Taehyung

(snapped and shouts at Jimin) I CAN'T IGNORE THEM! WHY IS IT HAPPENING WITH ME?! what have I done to deserve this hate.. (he broke down in tears)

Jimin hugged him and patted his back, Tae sobbing on his shoulder, he let out loud sobs and was trembling in the embrace..

Everything will be alright, I will always be by your side, I know u better..

Jimin could feel his eyes starting to get itchy, but he should be strong in this situation for his best friend, for his soulmate, for Taehyung..

Tae became introverted, he talked only when asked to, he was slowly breaking internally..

Sometimes he was found by Jimin at the toilet, sobbing and crying, but jimin never left his side, he was always there for him.. like a true best friend..

The last year if highschool ended in ups and downs, Jimin and Tae both passed with good grades and decided to enroll into the same college..

Within that time tae had developed a soft side for Jimin, only jimin understood him, better than anyone, better than his parents, then on Tae had a crush on Jimin..
