Chapter 4 - The Confession

Days went by, and Rio found himself thinking about Azark more and more. The way he smiled, the way he looked into Rio's eyes when they spoke, the way he made him feel... Rio couldn't stop thinking about him. But he tried to convince himself that it was just a crush, just a fleeting attraction.

As the project came to an end, Rio and Azark found themselves spending less time together. They continued to communicate via email and phone calls, but Rio missed the days spent working side by side with Azark.

One day, as Rio was finishing up some paperwork, he received a call from Azark.

"Rio, I need to talk to you," Azark said, hesitantly.

Rio's heart skipped a beat. He couldn't help but wonder what was going on.

"Sure, what's up?" Rio managed to say, trying to keep his voice steady.

"I know we said we'd keep things professional, but...I can't help how I feel," Azark said, his voice low.

Rio felt a shiver run down his spine. He knew where this was going.

"I feel the same way, Azark," Rio said, his voice barely above a whisper.

There was a moment of silence on the line before Azark spoke again.

"Rio, I want you to know that I won't hurt you. I know how alpha and omega dynamics can be, and I don't want to be like that. I care about you, and I want to be with you if you'll have me," Azark said, his voice filled with sincerity.

Rio's heart swelled with emotion. He couldn't believe that this was happening. He had always dreamed of finding someone who would care for him, who would love him for who he was.

"I want to be with you too, Azark," Rio whispered, his eyes filling with tears.

They talked for hours, about everything and nothing. They shared stories, hopes, and dreams. Rio felt like he had found a kindred spirit in Azark, someone who truly understood him.

The next few weeks were a whirlwind of emotions for Rio. He found himself falling deeper in love with Azark every day. They spent as much time as they could together, exploring the city, trying new restaurants, and just enjoying each other's company.

But Rio couldn't shake off his apprehension. He knew that their relationship could face challenges because of their different status as alpha and omega. He had heard horror stories of alphas mistreating omegas, of omegas being seen as less than human. He didn't want that to happen to him and Azark.

One day, while they were sitting in a park, Rio gathered the courage to speak with Azark about his fears.

"Azark, I know we care about each other, but...I'm scared. I don't want to be just another omega to you. I don't want you to see me as someone to dominate or control," Rio said, his voice cracking with emotion.

Azark took Rio's hand, looking deep into his eyes.

"Rio, I love you. And I know that we come from different backgrounds, but that doesn't matter to me. What matters is who you are as a person. You're kind, intelligent, and talented. I admire you for who you are, not because you're an omega," Azark said, his voice filled with conviction.

Rio felt tears streaming down his face. He had never felt so loved and understood in his life.

"I love you too, Azark. But please, promise me that you'll always see me as an equal, not just as an omega," Rio said, pleadingly.

"I promise, Rio. I'll always treat you with respect and love. You're the most important person in my life," Azark said, pulling Rio into a warm embrace.

In that moment, Rio felt a weight lifted off his shoulders. He knew that their relationship wouldn't be perfect, but as long as they had each other, they could face whatever challenges came their way.
