Chapter 4: First Encounter

As Lucian mindlessly walks as he thinks about the marks he suddenly falls into something.

Lucian: ouch... What's that? *shouts*

Lucian is shocked seeing a body under him.

Lucian: Is he dead?

He checks his pulse and finds out he's still alive.

He carries the man in the cave near the lake where he resides and treats him.

Lucian then embedded a rune of protection.

Lucian: I should rest for a while since I need to explore this area tomorrow but... What should I do to this man...

He pondered once again but soon fell asleep.

Almost a week has passed but the man is still unconscious, Lucian is almost done to explore the area and will be leaving soon.

Lucian: (this man is still unconscious... What should I do? I need to leave soon)

That day's night the man was flamed in fever, Lucian panicked and triyes to find a way to lower the fever.

He remembers about the herbs that grow near the lake and quickly comes out to take one but... near the lake he finds a lady head spider.

A Ladyhead spider is known for their toxicity and poison.

Lucian is splited if he'll save the man or just leave it be as soon as he sees the spider

Although Lucian knows there's no reason for him to go such length to save the man he just thought (I don't want to regret anything.)

Lucian decided to face the spider

"it already notice me I can't avoid the fight anyway might as well defeat it." he mutters

And soon immediately attack... The lady spider soon dies quickly.

It turns out the Ladyhead spider is recovering using the herbs from a fatal injuries.

Lucian quickly takes some herb to give the man...

Lucian: I didn't bring any medicine for fever so I'll just make one for you so make sure you recover.

Lucian muttered as he grinds the herbs to make the medicine and soon extracted the juice of the herb and gives it to the man.

His temperature soon went back to normal.

Days pass and Lucian has finally finished exploring.

He returns to his place and soon sees the man outside the cave awake and stretching,

Seeing that Lucian soon screams....

Lucian: FINALLY!!! I didn't think you'll be waking up and was planning to leave you here, Are you hungry? come inside.

(?): who are you?

Lucian whispers under his breath "I should be asking that right?"

Lucian: I'll explain inside

The man follows Lucian inside and Lucian explains about the situation as they eat.

Lucian: what's your name? And which tribe do you belong to?

Lucian asks enthusiastically while eating, It's been long since he has someone to talk with.

The man replied to his questions brightly "I'm Albert Cellia, I don't belong to any tribe or sort."

Lucian was confused when Albert says he doesn't belong to any tribe and thought (how is it possible that he doesn't belong to any? Is he perhaps abandoned?...)

Albert: haha I don't know what you're thinking but it is definitely not like that... But again, thanks for saving and accommodating me.

Lucian: It's nothing... Why are you injured anyway?

Albert: It is kinda hard to say... I'm sorry.

Lucian: Then don't say it, no need to be sorry.

Albert: is it really ok? I mean you don't even know me, what if I'm a bad person?

Lucian: what do you think of me? A child? And

I don't really think you're a bad person, I can see it.

Albert: HAHAHA you're really strange

Lucian: who are you to talk? *chuckle*

Albert: how old are you anyway? You really do look so young.

Lucian: I think I'm 14 or something, how bout you?

Albert: I didn't know a there's someone younger than me in this floor... Ah I'm 18 this year.

Hearing how Albert talks about floors and how he doesn't belong to any tribe Lucian came to a conclusion (is Albert perhaps an outsider?)

In respond on his curiosity, Lucian ask "Are you perhaps an outsider?"

Albert replied "Outsider?"

Lucian: I mean those who lives outside the tower.

Albert: why are you talking about our world like a third party? you make it seem like you lived in this tower your whole life.... Eh? Wait... IS IT REALLY AS I THINK?

Lucian: So are you perhaps one of those challengers mentioned in my parents diary???

Lucian replied with his eyes glimmering from excitement.

Albert: WAITT ARE YOU FOR REAL??? I really thought those are just myth.

Lucian explains everything about the tribes and inhabitants of the tower.

In response to Lucian's confusion Albert try to answer all of his questions.

2022 in Earth calendar a strange stracture suddenly appear out in a thin air and cause chaos all round the world, just when humans are losing their hope a shining light of hope appears. The "players" they are humans that evolve and obtain an ability amidst the chaos, they are those who returned inside the tower.

They're called players because of their similarity in a game... "system".

The system helps the awakened players get stronger.

After the conversation they decided to travel together and form a party.

Lucian: What floor are we in?

Albert: the 99th floor.

Lucian: So we just have to finish this floor then we'll be able to leave this tower now then?

Albert: It is more difficult that you think...

(Lucian only hears what he wants.)

Lucian: Let's start our journey then!

Albert: let's go now.
