Right now my third lecture of the day is going on, and I am not able to focus on it. I am feeling distressful today.

Well I think I am just nervous for my family dinner tonight. It has always been like this only. I don't like this family dinner thing because in most family it's actual family dinner where everyone sits together and talk happily with each other whereas in my family it's more like putting a fake show in front of each other and sharing our achievements of the month.

My family is not a big family or joint family it's just me, my elder brother, my mother and father. My mother and father both are very busy person they rarely get time to talk or to meet me whereas my brother is very caring and protective towards me. He lives in another city but still he somehow manages his time to call me or to get update about my life.

Truly saying he is the one who always saves me from our parent's overboard expectations.

Finally the lecture is over. I packed my bag and quickly make my way towards the canteen.

I entered inside the canteen and just like every day the canteen was crowded full of people and chattering noise. I find my usual spot to sit.

(Saw the last table empty) (went and sit on that table)

While I was busy using my phone suddenly I feel someone's presence behind me, and I turn around to see who is it.

(look up) AHH (screamed)

I saw my best friends straight face and got scared. She was standing so close to me with her natural straight face which scared the shit out of me.

(standing right behind her)

God! You scared the shit out of me. Why you always come like a creepy person.

Well this has now become her daily habit to come like this to scare me.

(take her burger) (start eating it) umm nice, but you know you should have ordered the other one I don't like these tomatoes in it. (while eating)

Here we go again. Her typical behaviour or should I say personality. She is a foody person but a very picky one. She always eats my food without asking me and more over she starts pointing out the things in it.

(looking at her with straight face) First of all that's my burger and secondly you are eating it without my permission and third stop being so picky eater.

so what's up and why are looking a little upset today.

(sign) I have to go for family dinner today.

seriously even tho you know that your parents will start insulting you again (serious tone)

I understand she is worried about me because she is well aware of my parent's behaviour but her this much protective nature sometimes scares me.

I can't do anything about it. They are my parents. (looking down)

(sign) Fine! Just don't take their words to heart.

Whenever I have to attend my family dinner she says these words to me. We have being friends from class 9th. I know she cares for me but is too stubborn to show it openly.

(getting ready)

It's 6 o'clock in the evening and I getting ready for my family dinner. I am wearing a vintage style dress which is totally opposite of my style, but what to do my parents are very strict about culture etc. and as I mentioned before it's not a family dinner it more like a show of faking everything.

After applying a light colored lipstick. I look at my reflection in the mirror for the last time before going out.

You can do it. You have attended every single one of this family dinner, so you can attend this one also.

I was trying to motivate myself by talking with my reflection in the mirror. Well it might sound wired, but this is my habit.

(waiting for the cab)

Cab arrived

I suddenly got a notification in my phone. I opened it and saw.

Verena - 📱Best of luck!

I know she might be desperate to see me right now, but unfortunately she has swift of 3hr at her part-time job so, she couldn't come to see me.

(keep the phone aside) (looking outside)

Driver - mam we have arrived.

Ooh ook thank you (pay him the money)

After half an hour I finally reached my parent's house. God! I am feeling nauseous. I just hope everything goes perfectly as my parents want.

I got off the car and made my way towards the house.
