4: Good to be fans; I guess

Mason's POV

Haha, that was freaking close, Jason and I are happy by their shared enthusiasm on werewolves, but it is a little too early to tell them the truth, we decided to take it slowly. The fact that Rayne picked up on our behavior still has me on edge but I guess she doesn't believe we could be real that is why she did not delve deeper.

I did some research after Grandpa told us that Rayne could be a hybrid, even though she is not my mate but she is still connected to me somehow since she is a mate to my family member, my twin at that, so after my research, I realized that she could be a werewolf too but her other half which is probably a witch or a fae is suppressing her instincts but that is just my speculation for now, after reading up on them, I realized that they need a trigger to tap into their natural instinct but I do not know what it could be.

Maurice's POV

Everybody was acting kind of weird as our conversation began to lean on talks about werewolves and I may not be very perspective but I kind of had a feeling that the twins were getting way too nervous and you could call me a nerd but according to all the werewolf novels I have read so far, I could say that they got nervous because they are wolves and they don't want us to find out because it is not the right time yet and we are probably their mates that would also explain why Mason prefers sticking by me ever since we both acknowledged our feelings, but that is absurd right, I will just find a right time and ask Mason though I doubt I will get anything reasonable because even as I am thinking about the possibility it still feels kind of far-fetched. I also noticed that Rayne picked up on it too but I am not too sure if she will act on what she picked on like me.

Jason's POV

This conversation we entered made the whole lunch awkward as hell, I could see gears turning in Mason's and his mates head and something is telling me that she knows but is too apprehensive to pursue it, but even given the chamce she would, meanwhile my mate looks like she had made a big mistake by the statement she made about I and Mason being werewolves, so she excuses herself to the restroom amd I am kind of sure she is probably blaming herself for making the lunch awkward right now, I leave the table and go to find her but without a scent she sure as hell is difficult to find because I could not find her in the restroom

As my thoughts begin to spiral out of control, I hear a sweet voice singing and I immediately know she is the one, so I follow the voice and find her in the school garden sitting on the floor with her feet bare like she is feeling nature at her feet. This is a normal werewolf behavior to keep as calm because it keeps us attuned with nature but I am not sure if she knows this though.

I go up to her as noisily as I could to avoid startling her and I sit beside her and decide to start a conversation "You know the way you were engrossed in explaining werewolves is kind of cute" I tell her which quickly brings a blush to her face. "I thought I destroyed the lunch, you guys seemed out of sorts" she replied "There is no such thing, we were just shocked on how much info you have in that cute head of yours" I tell her to soothe her nerves and I guess it works, "I am happy that I did not do anything bad and yiu guys were just shocked but you were way too shocked", "I guess that's because you are quite the shocker" I tell her knowing that the joke was not funny but she laughs anyway while saying "That sounded a lot like a dad joke to me" "As long as it brings a smile on your face" I tell her and then I asked her to join me for coffee during the weekend which she agrees to after that we spend the rest of break cracking jokes, chatting and laughing and by break over she was better than before so we return to class.

The Next day: Thursday

Mason

I told Jason about what I figured out, and he plans to talk to her to see if he can find out something that could trigger her or possibly information on her family

How the mate bond works is that you will have a level of trust for the person and the person will be more open to you so we decided to use this info to our advantage. Jason told me that she agreed to go out with him for coffee during the weekend and that is a good head start on our side. We also ask our grandpa just for extra measures and he just told us not to push it too far.

When we got to school, Maurice and Rayne were already waiting for us since we all have the same schedule on Thursday. Immediately I got to my mate I grabbed her and gave her a peck on the cheek which got her flushing and she looked so cute. I might also add this little bit of info, we only have 2 years for college before we head of to internship in various art companies since this is an art school.

Jason

Rayne no longer looked awkward and I am glad, I immediately get close to her and tell her how Saturday seems so far away and she just laughs which by the way is the cutest sound I have ever heard. We all get to class and sit beside each other, we talk a little while waiting for the class to start and when it finally does, we concentrate on what the teacher says but I just figured it is a little difficult especially with Rayne so close to me but I brave it till class ends, then we go to the cafeteria and that's how our routine was.

I just figured out that finding my mate was the easy part and trying not to be close to her is proving difficult, she probably noticed I was trying not to come of as weird because she took the initiative and held my hand as we walked home and I am beyond happy(we decided to walk today because it helps spend longer time with our mates). I just hope we could crack this issue quickly.
