Episode 2
taehyung
A soft voice whispers behind me and I turn around slightly. It's Chang-ha, the only friend I made until now.
No one can pronounce my name correctly here, their English accent is very strong when they pronounce my Korean name, but I find it cute.
chang-ha
"I need your help with Korean, I have a test tomorrow."
taehyung
"How did you know I'm fluent in Korean?"
Korean is my first language as I grew up in a small city in the US. My family and I lived there until my father made some enemies at work. He was a lawyer, who sent some criminals to prison that probably searched for revenge.
So he decided it was better to move back to South Korea, where we are originally from. We bought a beautiful house in the mountains, but only 6 months later, that monstrous killer ended their lives.
chang-ha
"Well, you have an English Korean Name and you have a little accent when speaking"
taehyung
"That's true, okay, I'll see what I can do to help you. I'll see you after class."
I fake a smile, I completely forgot how to truly smile again.
When the class finishes, the teacher calls me to his desk, so I walk up to him.
taehyung
"Is something wrong?"
teacher
"I've been informed that you didn't attend your appointment with the psychologist yesterday and that you also didn't attend the group therapy."
taehyung
"With all my respect, I really don't think I need that."
teacher
"I'm afraid that decision is not yours. You've been through a lot, and we need to make sure you're getting over that horrible event. If you keep missing the appointments, you'll be transferred to the second floor. Do you want that?"
taehyung
"Okay, I will attend the next session."
It's not worth arguing. I won't be here for the next session anyway.
teacher
"Good, you can leave now."
I leave the classroom and walk along the long corridor full of boys. This part of the building is only for boys, as boys and girls live separately.
taehyung
I walk to the dorms corridor and enter my room, closing the door behind me, and walking up to the mirror.
taehyung
I stare at myself, my eyes staring back at me with such sadness that I wonder where the happy boy once was has gone.
taehyung
The day has arrived. I sit down on my bed, I just need to wait for the night to come.
After a few hours, the sky turns dark. I look at the clock beside by bed marking 7:10pm. I open the door and look at both sides of the corridor before stepping out.
I walk up the stairs until I get out to the rooftop, the cold wind making my hair fly back.
taehyung
I press my jacket against my body as I step closer to the edge.
