Strangely interrupted

"Where could she be at a time like this without telling me something? This is strange, normally she says something" , he asks himself. "Well, maybe she had to go somewhere and didn't have the time to tell me. At least this is a possibility". Covered in warm clothes, Yoru is heading towards the exit of his property to go for a little walk. "Uhm, so.. where should I even go? There's nothing special in this town where I could go. Everything is so bland and monotonous. " Yoru lives in a small town with many industrial buildings, but he doesn't care about them, he just likes to enjoy the quiet places. "Well, I could take a walk inside the forest.. again. It's just the fact that I was there at least 1000 times, but hey, I have nothing to lose, so.." With this mindset, he is heading toward the forest, which is a few hundred meters away from his home. "Maybe I should think about where I want to apply and work in the next few days or weeks. If I'm just staying at home, mom will probably be mad at me. But I don't have a damn clue what I should do. What if I don't find anything and end up getting kicked out of home?  What if everyone I apply to rejects me? What if I find something I don't enjoy and still have to work there forever? What if—" > Self-Doubt< - he is getting interrupted by a voice. "Huh? Who was that? Who said that?" Yoru is looking around him to find the place where the voice came from, but he doesn't see anybody. "Oh man, now I'm starting to hear voices too.. and that in the middle of a forest where nobody besides me is hanging around. Well, that's really a bit creepy". With an uneasy feeling, Yoru continued making his way through the forest, but he's getting distracted by animal sounds and singing birds pretty fast.

A little while later, he's getting out of the forest. "Phew, I finally made it out of there. I never thought that a bit of fresh air could clear up thoughts that fast again. The problems flew together with the wind.. well, at least that is what it felt like". And so Yoru continues, heading back to home again. Right as he's about to turn onto a small path, a boy interrupts him. "Hey you", the stranger shouts. With a confused glance, Yoru is just looking at him. "Yea, I'm talking to you! I know this is a bit sudden. I saw you walking alone in town for a little while now and I thought 'Hey, maybe I should talk to that guy'!", the stranger continues with a happy tone. Yoru starts looking serious, "Hm? Me? Could you maybe tell me who I'm even talking to?" "Uhm, yea, of course! My name is Sero, I moved to this place not too long ago. That's why I'm also alone most of the time.. So that's why I'm coming to you now, you know? To maybe build up a friendship", the stranger responds with a smile. Sero continues by giving him a piece of paper. Yoru is getting annoyed and confused, "Hey, what are you doing?" "Oh that.. that's just my number for the case you want to.." "I don't need any friends", Yoru interrupts him with a tone as cold as ice and continues heading towards home. Sero just sighs and heads off somewhere else.

Upon arriving home, Yoru realizes that his mother is still not there. "Oh, it looks like she's still not home. Well, I guess I'll stay alone for just a bit longer. He's heading toward his room up the stairs, puts on some cozy clothes, and lays down in his bed. He takes the piece of paper with the number out of his pocket and starts to crumple it up. "Friends.. duh.. Where do I need friends for? In the end you are only disappointed and left alone by them anyway". Yoru continues to think about something for a while, "Why am I always so serious?" "A few years ago I was happy about being with others, and now I'm just so serious. Maybe I should just give the others a chan-" > More Hate < - he's getting interrupted by the same voice from the forest again. Yoru jumps out of bed, "There it was again!" He's looking around in his room, a bit frightened. "Again, nothing is here. That voice, where did it come from?" He continues looking around but then gives up pretty quickly in finding anything. "Maybe it's just because I slept too much today or because my brain is still asleep or something like that". Slowly but surely, he's calming down. "Well, it's pretty late now, so it doesn't make any sense staying awake now even though I just slept a few ours ago. But I can't help it, I'm just so tired". Yoru puts the crumbled up paper on a little shelf next to his bed, "Well, maybe I'll need that thing tomorrow.." And just like that, Yoru falls asleep withing seconds because of how tired he is and so another day of his life ends. But before we continue here, let's go to a different location now, not far away from Yoru's home. "Have you met him?", a mysterious voice asks.
