Adela asked in a shivering voice. It was the first time her hand had ever trembled.
One of her friends was about to pass away right before her eyes.
She was the reason for everything, too. She had no intention of attacking him. Furthermore, she asked him to stand by her, but he carried out his duty as a Marquess. He made a concerted effort to secure the border.

She urged her snake to stay with Francis while she walked inside to get Camilla.
When Adela wrenched open their bedroom door, she could not find anyone. She lost Francis, but she wouldn't lose Camilla. She had to save Camilla at all costs.

Adela was abruptly stabbed in the back when she was about to turn around. That person pushed Adela to the ground. Adela's eyes grew narrower as she became aware of the mystical power used to make the dagger. She was a little dizzy, so she couldn't fully see that person's face.
Adela tried to call her taipan snake, but that person just booted Adela's hand with her leg.
Adela attempted to breathe, but she was suddenly aware of the agony of dying.
