The Last View
At the Beginning of spring.
Sugawara Koshi took a deep breath as he was about to enter the gym.
He explored around the empty hall. Every side of the court, the equipment room and the wooden floor. He lit up his head and closed his eyes taking in every scent of the area in his nostrils.
For three years, the gym was his second home. Their laughter, their screams, the sound of the ball hitting on the floor, and the squeaking sound of their shoes while playing. It was the best memory he can ever hold for his entire life.
Sugawara opened his eyes upon hearing his name.
Daichi
I'm looking for you everywhere. I knew I'll find you here.
Sugawara turned around to face Daichi.
Sawamura Daichi immediately approached Sugawara's spot.
Koshi's eyes were filled with tears.
He wiped his tears but kept on sobbing.
Sawamura hugged him and gently tapped his back.
Daichi
It's alright...now, now stop crying.
Koshi
I don't want to leave this place...
Koshi burst in to tears as he continued to talk.
Koshi
For all my life Daichi...
Koshi
It was my happiest place!
Koshi
It was a home...a family....
Daichi got emotional upon hearing Koshi's words. He didn't realize his tears were already crawling down on his cheeks.
He removed his arms from Koshi who was still sobbing.
Daichi
I know....Suga I know... We know it before anyone else.
Sawamura tried to stop his tears flowing, but he can't. Besides, this was the only chance that they can bring out their emotions that they couldn't do during their graduation, where there's no one watching and where its only them who can hear their cries.
Unaware, Azumane Asahi was standing behind them.....
He also wanted to take peek on the gym before going home and to his surprise he saw his friends inside and heard everything.
Asahi
Looks like I'm not the only one who likes to take a last view of the gym...
Daichi and Koshi immediately looked towards the man who just spoke.
Asahi came towards them and tapped Daichi's shoulder.
Asahi
It's time for us to leave the responsibility to our juniors.
There was a sudden silence. They stood there for a second.
The silence broke when Koshi continued to weep.
Watching him, Asahi and Daichi cried too.
Their sorrow scattered throughout the gym.
