The Knocking On The Mirror
the reflection
Joanna woke up from the continuous knocking sound on glass.
she looked over at her window.
She closed her eyes to go back to sleep
She groaned and got out of bed to check out the window
She opened her window and looked out. There was no one down there, neither was anything that could've caused the sound.
She finally looked away from the window and decided to go back to bed. But she stopped.
Joanna
*now that I'm awake, I'll make a trip to the bathroom*
while she was doing her thing, she heard the knocking sound again.
Joanna
we don't have a window in the bathroom...
Joanna
Then where is this sound of knocking on glass coming from?
Joanna
Whatever, I'm probably just hallucinating. I'm tired...
She flushed the toilet and stood in front of the mirror, washing her hands.
She didn't look at her reflection, she just remained focused on washing her hands.
Suddenly, from the corner of her eyes, she noticed some movements behind her.
She immediately turned to see what it was-
She turned back, and her gaze landed on the mirror...
She saw a shadow on the mirror, standing behind her reflection.
But the moment her gaze landed on it, it disappeared
She quickly left the bathroom and closed the door behind her
Then she ran down the dark hallway and into her room, breathless.
Joanna
Am I in some kind of horror movie?
She crawled under her sheets and closed her eyes
Joanna
*Ghosts don't exist. Ghosts don't exist...*
She repeated these words in her head until her mind drifted to sleep...
In her dream, she was standing in front of the mirror in the dimly lit bathroom.
She could not move, nor she could speak, she was just standing still, staring at her reflection.
Her reflection was not alone...
There was someone behind her
Her body was shaking, the room was cold, but there was no window, so there was no wind.
Wasn't this a dream? Then why can she feel the cold...?
The shadow figure came closer
Joanna wanted to move, to get away, but her body remained still, shaking uncontrollably.
The figure finally stopped, but it was close enough to whisper in her ear.
Joanna held her breath, as if she forgot how to breathe.
Joanna was too scared to turn her eyes and look at the figure next to her face.
All she could do was to stare in horror at their reflection
From the corner of her eyes, she couldn't see anyone, even though the figure's reflection was clearly next to her.
But, she could feel its coldness against her skin.
The figure was a girl... probably around the age of 10 to 15
Her skin was as pale as a sheet of paper
Her dark hair was long and resting on her shoulders.
there was dried blood around her lips and on her neck
The white T-shirt that she was wearing was painted red by blood.
The girl leaned in closer to her, and Joanna froze.
From the reflection, Joanna could see the girl's lips moving.
She whispered in a quiet voice:
the girl in the mirror
Get me out
Joanna's eyes widened with fear and the next thing she knew was that she was screaming
