The carriage that I was escorted to was beautifully ornated with black and silver.

Plush seats awaited me on the inside, and I got help jumping in by Kyre's servent.

Hold on, is he... Daniel Smith?

Suddenly, the carriage door closed and I noticed that Kyre wasn't going to sit in here with me.

Where was he going?

I pushed the curtains aside and saw him jumping up onto a horse while Daniel took a place next to the driver.

Did they bring this carriage just for me?

I suddenly felt important, but that soon faded away when I realised the downside of not being able to ride in it with Kyre.

We weren't going to talk, and if we couldn't talk, how else was I supposed to seduce him??

Apparently, Adelaide was against intercxurse. She hated it. However, she was forced to perform her maritial duties and to give birth to an heir. That was the main reason why she hated Theon.

In her eyes, he was the reason why she was forced to do it with Kyre.

The journey to the Chapel didn't take long.

When the carriage stopped, I waited for someone to open the door, and felt disappointed when it was Daniel.

I put out my hand and allowed him to help me down the single step before my feet were both on firm ground.

Despite the plush seats, the carriage ride was still uncomfortable.

I admired the outside of the palatial Chapel before I followed Daniel and Kyre inside.

There, I was handed off to two friendly-looking maids, and I was pushed into a preparation room.

Maid A

Are you Lady Adelaide? Wow, you look so pretty...

Maid B

I wish that I had hair as long as silky as that...

I don't know if they were just saying that to get in my good books or to prevent me from running away somehow, but it felt nice compared to the maids back at the Esteban estate.

After dressing me up in a gorgeous wedding dress, applying natural makeup to my face and covering it with a veil, I was ready to get married.

I have to remember...

Although that man might be handsome on the outside, he is broken and deadly on the inside.

I need to get onto his good side in order to finally see my Theon, but I can't forget that I mustn't give my heart to him.

Because if I do... I think that I might end up disappointed.
