The palace medics attended to Livia, while the king waited outside the chamber, praying for her well-being and that the Marchioness hadn't done anything to her, though the blood made it likely that the harlot had succeeded in her vile intentions. The thought alone filled him with rage and a desire to destroy that woman.

In the dungeon, Lucrecia was desperate, begging the guards to let her out.

"He seduced me, this is all slander."

"Shut your mouth; with such a spectacle, no one will believe you."

"Go away, filthy omega, it seems you need to be tamed."

"Madwoman, you're revolting, I just hope that in prison, they do to you what you've done; it's better that you suffer before we execute you."

Lucrecia continued to curse at Lys, who ignored her completely; upon leaving the area, there was a boy waiting for him. Seeing him made Lys purse his lips - the last thing he needed now was trouble, and the boy had a kind expression and was rather comely, though his clothes were unlike those commonly worn in that country.

He approached Lys and hugged him, burying his face in Lys's neck.

"I heard what happened; I feared something would happen to you or that you'd be punished for the incident."

Lys pushed him away.

"These things happen; I know the risks of this job."

"Then leave it, it's too dangerous, you know we could get married, I have a good title, we'd want for nothing."

"It's not about that, Hiro, I'm fine with the life I lead now."

"Even if it means being apart? Is it alright if I marry someone else? You know I cannot stay single forever."

"Then make your life, I won't blame you for it."

"Lys! Please, you know I love you."

Lys brought his hand up to caress the boy's cheek.

"I love you too, Hiro, but we see life differently."

"Lys..."

The boy tried to hold him close against his chest, unwilling to ever let go. Meanwhile, the medics finally emerged from the room, asking to speak with the king privately while a nurse stayed behind to care for Livia.
