Chapter 14 - Bathtime w/ Pups
I sighed as I fell into the warm bathtub that Floyen had prepared, along with the pups.
They had to be hosed off outside because they turned the water a black colour immediately after jumping in. I can't wait to dry them and see how fluffy they are.
I smiled at them as they swam through the water, jumping onto the 'islands' that were my knees and feet before jumping back in.
Rosalie Julian
Will you guys protect Cayden?
The pups looked at me, confused.
I smiled as I pressed my hand against my stomach.
Rosalie Julian
He's the little boy who is growing inside of me now.
The pups remained confused and kept on playing around.
Seems like they can't sense Cayden's presence yet.
Rosalie Julian
Cayden... Cayden, my love...
I ended up falling asleep in the bathtub, the pups playing away on top of me while I rested.
An hour later, Cassian walked into the bathroom and saw me in the bathtub, sleeping away.
Floyen
Is she alright, Sir? I didn't hear anything but the pups.
Floyen was hiding behind the door, not daring to check whether or not I was still there because I might have been nxked.
Cassian walked in and grabbed a black towel before stopping at the bathtub.
Cassian Bastillos
You have a strange habit of falling asleep where youre not supposed to.
He drained the bath, to the pups dismay, and slowly picked me up before taking me into the bedroom next door and lying me down onto the bed.
The pups immediately jumped up and huddled around me, falling asleep also.
Floyen
Sir, those pups are worth 500,000 gold each.
Floyen
Are you really going to gift them to Lady Julian?
Cassian Bastillos
Gift? Who said anything about gifting? If she gives birth to my child, the child will also become their Master, thus making me their Master once more.
Cassian Bastillos
I do not care for them when they are pups. They can mess around with this woman if they want.
Cassian Bastillos
Why does she keep on falling asleep? Is this manor so comfortable?
Floyen
Well, she seems like she has a weak constitution. Perhaps last night was a little much for her.
Cassian Bastillos
Last night? What do you know of last night?
Cassian looked at him, frowning.
Cassian Bastillos
The whole force knows, don't they.
Floyen
I-I... well, perhaps?
He frowned, rubbing his forehead yet again.
Cassian Bastillos
How did they hear?
Floyen
I believe that your window was open last night... I think that I might have aired out your room.
Floyen
They are already calling Lady Julian "Madam".
Cassian Bastillos
They expect her to become my wife?
Floyen
Well, if Lady Julian is pregnant, surely you don't want the child to be raised without a Mother.
Floyen
I know how it effected your childhood, Your Grace.
Cassian snarled at that before looking at me and my sleeping face.
Cassian Bastillos
Her? As my wife?
He looked at me one last time.
Cassian Bastillos
At least she won't be nagging me for affection and love.
Floyen
Indeed! And she isn't an unreasonable person. She hasn't even complained about the old dress of my wife's that I gave her.
Cassian Bastillos
Make sure that she has everything that she requires. I'll talk with her tomorrow.
