The Lusong Kingdom

After Humabon finished his introduction to Raylyn. The young man then began to clear his throat and began to walk towards them with a smile from his face. "Ako nga pala si Humaling. Katulad niya isa rin akong anak ng Datu." (Translation: I am Humaling. Just like Humabon, I am also a son of Datu.) Raylyn heard the word of "Ako" which seems to imply I am coming from his head. He grabbed his hand and shook it firmly with a slight smile upon his face. "It's nice to meet you. I am Raylyn." Humaling appreciated his gesture so in return, they began to sit down on a red pillow that seems to be their chair. They are fresh roasted pork that was grilled in a charcoal and Raylyn even without practical knowledge of the culture respected it and celebrated with the two of them. Since they cannot understand each other, Raylyn would use gestures and draw some of the objects that he is trying to convey so they wouldn't feel awkward talking to him. But of course, Raylyn still need to get back on the ship so he could come home from the West but it seems that he needs to take on missions or jobs to actually earn money in here. He asked them about it, Humabon seems to have an idea since Raylyn wanted to get a job. "Kung nais mong maghanap ng hanapbuhay upang ika'y makakuha ng bulawan. Matutulungan kita, ang ama ko na si Datu Ibon ay mabibigyan ka ng tungkulin. Samahan mo ko pagkatapos ng pagdiriwang." (Translation: If you want to find a job so you can earn some "bulawan" meaning money. The currency from Lusong. My father Datu Ibon can give you some jobs. Come with after the celebration/feast.) Of course Humabon tried telling Raylyn most of it by drawing and gestures so Raylyn could understand what he was trying to convey. Raylyn got the gist of it, and happily nodded as if he agreed to what he was saying. "I got it. Thanks for the help." Then, after drinking some tuba. (Context: A type of coconut wine that is made from Lusong). The three of them left the feast and went towards an encampment that seems to have the same architecture of hut houses but it has some golden woven characteristics from it and it's pretty big. Raylyn saw a man with long silky smooth hair with golden ring wrapped around his forehead with a oval shape red hat that he saw but with a golden star from the side. He has a blade that has no edges. He was curious about such a blade so he asked Humaling about it. "That sword? What is that?" Raylyn point the blade with a wondering expression. Humaling responded, while analysing what Raylyn is trying to convey. "Yan? Yan ay isang uri ng sandata na tinatawag na Golok." (Translation: That? that sword is called a Golok.) Raylyn understood it and then Humabon and Humaling bowed down to him by putting their right hand towards their chest with a clench fist. Humabon responded first to greet him. "Aking mahal na ama, ako'y nagbabalik! (Translation: My dear father. I have returned.) The man smiled towards Humabon and hugged him with glee. Then Humaling responded as well in kind. "Binabati ko po kayo mahal na Datu." (Translation: Greetings , great Datu.) It seems that this man is Datu Ibon. The father of Humabon. And the Datu in kind paid respect towards Humaling. "Ikaw rin, anak ng Datu Hiling." (Translation: You too, son of Datu Hiling) Then Datu Ibon saw Raylyn. He smiled and then approached him. "You must be from the west, a paladin in training I presume?" Raylyn was shock that the Datu could speak his language. He can now converse with him, as expected of a Datu from the Kingdom of Lusong. "Yes, I am from the small town of Artrois. My name is Raylyn Eagleheirt." He attempted to bow towards him but Datu Ibon stopped him and said "Don't bow to me, you are not my subject. You are a guest here. So you don't have to do such a thing." Then Raylyn understood and nodded. "Understood, Datu Ibon." Then Datu Ibon sat down on his wooden throne with a pillow case while he sat down carefree. "Humabon at Humaling. Bakit pala nandito ang dayuhan na ito sa ating lupain at ano ang kailangan niya?" (Translation: Humabon and Humaling, why is there a foreigner in our land? Does he need something?) Then Humaling replied "Ang dayuhan na ito ay natagpuan namin sa inuman. Nakita ko po siya na nakasama si Humabon ngunit hindi po namin alam kung anong kanyang pakay." (Translation: I saw this foreigner into the pub. I saw him with Humabon. However, I didn't know what was his purpose in here.) Then Humabon added towards the Datu what was the purpose "Wala daw po siyang bulawan, sa tingin ko po ay nais niyang maghanap ng gawain upang magkaroon siya ng bulawan at makauwi sa kanila at sumakay sa barko." (Translation: He said doesn't have any bulawan (money), so I thought he wanted to find a job in order to earn some in order for him to go home by riding on the ship.) After Datu Ibon listened to their reasonings. he made a decision. "Umalis muna kayo. Nais kung makipagusap ng mag-isa sa kanya." (You two can leave, I want to talk to him alone.) Humaling and Humabon said in reply "Masusunod po!" (Translation: As you command) Then both of them left for now and then Datu Ibon stood up and went towards Raylyn and grabbed his shoulder. "Come with me. I want to know how you got here." Then Raylyn followed Datu Ibon as they went towards the white sandy beach. The water was so blue and clear and the sand is pure white, and the wind is so cool with a summer breeze surrounded by the coconut trees and fresh greenery and red leaves. Then he looked at the place and Datu Ibon answered "You like this place?" Then Raylyn said in response. "Yeah, It is beautiful Datu Ibon." Datu Ibon appreciated his kind words and then gazed upon the sky while they walked around the beach. "It is a beautiful place. The white sandy beach and pure blue sky and the fresh air, and the blue fresh water. I love this place, and I will defend it till I die. This is the land of gold, this is The Kingdom of Lusong."
