CHAPTER ONE
It was late at night and a young brunette was walking down the semi empty streets
You could tell by her stance and lack of balance she was under the influence of alcohol.

" Melonie, why do you have to do this to me ? "
she sighed, this was a normal routine for her, every Saturday, she would go out searching for her friend in any of the many bars in town and lead her back to their apartment

" I can't take it anymore, this is ruining my life too "
she said, she knew her friend was too intoxicated to process any of her words so she just ranted on and on and on

" You know, I'm thinking of moving.. moving out of the apartment "

she said, her words slurred.

" Me too, I got you a job interview "

" At some big corporate company "

" With your credentials you can ace.. just.. just lay off the alcohol, okay "
She looked at her friend as she walked her down the street, sighing.

" You probably don't even know what I'm saying "
Melonie just looked at her, her eyes cast down as she tried to concentrate on the pavement and maintaining her balance
She continued to rant, thinking Melonie couldn't hear her but she heard every word and she couldn't help the pang of guilt seeping into her heart for putting her friend through all this

" Melonie, you always hated that name, remember when they would call you Melon head in pre- school "
Melonie groaned, she always did hate that name, her peers throughout her childhood always teased her calling her Melon head or Melon- in - burrows

" Haha, bringing back painful memories "

" Aah, shit, I got to use the toilet, do you you think you can lean on this pole "
She said, pushing her body towards the streelamp near them, Mia ran towards the nearest open store.
Melonie slowly started slipping, her body leaning towards the open street.
She stumbled onto the street, still slightly unaware of her surroundings but she couldn't mistake the bright headlights of an incoming car.
