CHAPTER ONE
It was late at night and a young brunette was walking down the semi empty streets
You could tell by her stance and lack of balance she was under the influence of alcohol.

" Melonie, why do you have to do this to me ? "
she sighed, this was a normal routine for her, every Saturday, she would go out searching for her friend in any of the many bars in town and lead her back to their apartment

" I can't take it anymore, this is ruining my life too "
she said, she knew her friend was too intoxicated to process any of her words so she just ranted on and on and on

Melonie just looked at her, her eyes cast down as she tried to concentrate on the pavement and maintaining her balance
She continued to rant, thinking Melonie couldn't hear her but she heard every word and she couldn't help the pang of guilt seeping into her heart for putting her friend through all this

She said, pushing her body towards the streelamp near them, Mia ran towards the nearest open store.
Melonie slowly started slipping, her body leaning towards the open street.
She stumbled onto the street, still slightly unaware of her surroundings but she couldn't mistake the bright headlights of an incoming car.

CHAPTER TWO
So this is how I die, how disappointing.
Soon her breathing got shallow, her heart slowing down every second. The feeling in her fingers and toes was gone and soon all of her body felt numb
Time slowed down and everyone was moving in slow motion, a giant tornado came down on her, sucking her in it but somehow she was still laying on the ground, blood coming out of her head and her eyes wide open as if still processing the crash.
The turnado spit her out into a dark void, with no light, no gravity, she just floating, lifelessly in the never ending void.
She spent a few minutes in the void, minutes which felt like years gravity crashed down on her, slamming her against a cold and wet, sticky substance
She looked up to see a beautiful woman with markings on her face.

" Quiet, your life is pitiful, you have disappointed the one person who cared about you and left her in state of sorrow "
Melonie lowered her head in shame.

" You have done nothing that I think is worthy for you to earn such an opportunity but the King himself requested this, I must obey "

When she awoke she was in a bed, in a luxurious room, with magnificent paintings and extravagant decor

But her lady did not respond, instead she groaned.

CHAPTER THREE
Annalise Marrow
" Your highness, your family requests you in the dining room "

I looked at her in the eye, with a look that said ' seriously'

she bowed opening the door, she was so formal it was starting to get annoying at times, others I liked the respect and power I held over her but sometimes, just Some time it wouldn't hurt her to lighten up
We walked towards the dining room while I took deep breaths, for the first time I was about to meet my new family, I was nervous, anxious, conscious and many other mixed and jumbled up emotions.
I kicked the door open, surprising everyone inside, including Annelise.
I walked in with overbearing confidence although inside I was a mess, my mother always said ' walk with confidence and you will be confident ' and she was right I was faking it until I make it.
