The Murder

Rachel’s POV

I wake up and look at the time it was 11:50 am, I get up and go into my closet and get dressed then I walk out into the kitchen, I make me a waffle then go sit on my couch.

I turn the tv on and start watching tv then it suddenly changes to a warning ‘lock your doors and windows, a murderer is on the loose, she has short red hair and always has matches, many murders have happened due to burning, we can always tell it’s her if a lipstick print is on the victims forehead, sometimes it isn’t seen but there are traces of the lipstick in the ash, she has green eyes and medium to light skin. Be careful ’ a reporter on tv says and I squirm slightly in discomfort knowing there’s a chance I can be killed.

I finish my waffle then go into the kitchen and take care of my plate, while I’m putting it in the sink I hear a knock at the door so I go to my door and open it to see my neighbor standing there looking freaked out.

“Hey Rachel, do you have a moment?” She asks and I nod “of course” I say with a calming smile, she walks in and we sit on my couch.

“So what did you want to talk about miss O?” I ask her and she looks down at her lap then back at me “I know who she is” she says and I’m a bit confused “you know who who is?” I ask.

“The murderer, she’s my grand niece, she has always had an interest in fire then she started setting things on fire and the description fit her perfectly. I had to tell someone this ” she says looking scared.

“Thank you for telling me, we’re gonna be okay” I say with a smile, we continue talking for a while then she goes home, I look at the time and see it’s almost six so I go make me dinner.

After dinner I go into my room and get changed then lay in my bed and go to sleep but I’m awoken by glass shattering shrieks coming from my neighbors house so I look out my window and see smoke coming from inside.

I grab my phone and hide in my closet, I call the police and tell them my address and what I heard, after a minute or two the police arrive at my neighbors house.

I go out and walk over to the police, when I look at the house it’s burned to a crisp “the woman found in the house is dead, did you talk to her anytime recently” and officer asks and I look at him and nod “yes me and her were chatting an hour ago” I say.

He nods “just go back to your house and go to sleep” the officer says and I nod, I walk back to my house and go into my room, I lay on my bed and try to go to sleep.

After a minute or two I feel pressure on the bed, terrified I look up and see a beautiful girl with short red hair and green eyes, I knew it was the murderer but I couldn’t help but blush seeing her so close.

“Don’t tell anyone what you know” she says then leaves, after a few minutes I fall asleep thinking of her face.
