If they are bothering you, shoo them away.

She smiled.

I'll let you call me Irine if you let me call you Emma. How about it?

I smiled brightly.

Emma Blake

Sure! I'd love that.

Well, I'll see you later. I must get going, my Duchy is quite the way away and I wouldn't want to leave my servants up to wait for me.

Emma Blake

That's very considerate of you.

Anyway, my gift is the black one wrapped with a white bow. Make sure to send me a letter if you wish for more.

Emma Blake

Of course. Thank you for your gift and have a safe journey back.

Irine nodded as she made her way to the exit.

Duke Blake

The Devauche's... Irine is a powerful figure.

Robert Blake

And she isn't a schemer.

Duke Blake

She'll be a friend that I approve.

Robert nodded in agreement.

I turned back to my Father and smiled brightly as I approached them again.

Emma Blake

I made a new friend!

Robert Blake

Yes, Duchess Irine.

Robert Blake

She's a tricky character but she seems to have taken a liking to you, Sis.

Emma Blake

I'm happy. She even got me a gift!

Father huffed.

Duke Blake

I got you a gift too.

Duke Blake

A lot of gifts, actually.

I smiled.

Emma Blake

I know. Thank you, Father. I'll spend the next month opening them.
