I woke up at the end of the school day in the infirmary, with a splitting headache. The nurse said they found me lying on the basketball court just past the bleachers not moving so they brought me to the infirmary.
I was awake before the school nurse came to check on me but I was unable to move my body at all, so I kept on thinking about what happened. At first, I thought it was just a nightmare when I woke up in the infirmary but something kept telling me it wasn’t, I decided to wait for the nurse to come to check on me.
I heard two voices in the background having a conversation in which they seemed to have different opinions about it and it was getting very steamy.
“Sorry Sir, he's still passed out, we should wait for him to wake up before asking him any questions,” said the nurse
“I don’t care if he passed out or if he's about to die, wake him up” shouted the principal,
“But sir he needs to rest because the condition we found him in is nothing to joke about” she argued “any other person in his place could have lost their lives in that condition, I’ve not seen anyone that exhausted in all my Fifteen Years of being a Nurse,” She said while trying to stop him from entering the infirmary.
“Boy you better wake up or else I am going to make sure you get detention through the end of the school year” He shouted.
“Sir isn’t that too ruthless,” she said but judging the situation she knew he was not going to leave or let me rest till he got answers. “Fine, let me wake him up” she said.
“Wake up Mr. Ayo the principal is here to see you,” said the nurse
I tried to speak but the only word I could utter was, “Water”
She hurriedly brought a glass of water with a straw for me to drink, before telling me that she’s surprised the fact that I can even move my lips.
“I guess I quite underestimated you, I never thought you would be able to speak you’re lucky”
She helped me sit up since I couldn’t move, “Well, well, well looks like the princess finally decided to wake up from her not so little nap” Sarcastically said to the principal.
“You better start explaining and hope that your explanation satisfies me or you’re going to pay,” He said
“What happened to the wall?”
I looked at him with eyes filled with confusion and answered, “What wall?”
He explodes at me saying “Do you think am a fool, am talking about the wall behind the bleachers that are destroyed”
I remembered kicking Michaels into the wall and after that it all became blurry, I didn’t know what to do.
I decided to tell him exactly what happened; “Do you take me for a fool? There’s no student named Michael Andrews and his friends you're describing” he said angrily.
With eyes filled with the confusion, I looked at him “Tell me the truth and I’ll spare you” said the principal
“I already told you everything, including the fact that there were not humans; they were not human but demons, beasts”, I said starting to get angry because he was pretending he didn’t know what or who I was talking about.
I angrily tried to stand up just to end up falling on the floor, the nurse helped me get on my feet and helped me climb back into the bed and told me to rest that I would be moved to the nearest hospital for better examinations.
“Sir you should let him rest” said the nurse obviously annoyed by the principal before chasing him out.
The principal looks back at me and says “I will find out the truth whether you decide to tell me or not, This Academy is large at least someone must have seen something” He then slowly walks away.
“Sorry but why did the principal act like he does not know about Michaels and His friends,” I asked the nurse, puzzled
“You better rest because just based on these people you're talking about I don’t doubt you must have suffered quite an injury inside your head” she said while laughing at me pitifully.
“What do you mean?” I inquired
“Simple there’s nobody by the name of Michael Andrews that matches your description” she replied.
Stunned, I decided to lie down on the bed while waiting to be moved to the nearest hospital for further examinations. Any other day I would be worried about how my foster father would react to the hospital bills, but today I couldn’t care less.
I waited at the infirmary while waiting to be moved to the hospital, but I still kept thinking about the fact that both the Principal and the school nurse said there was nobody like the Michael Andrews I was talking about. Evening came and was moved to the hospital, but the only thing they could find out after a dozen tests were physical and mental exhaustion
Unknown to me I had become the most trending topic at the Academy some students overheard my conversation with the principal, and I was known as the “School Psycho”.
