Before eus people milled about on streets covered with curb side stores and markets. Some turned to look at us then turned away, others ignored us, most turned and bowed then went back to work. In the center of the village stood a large palace with walls of white rock and gates of dark oak.
Before I knew what was happening they opened and willow lead us inside. Why? What was happening?
Servants hurried about. One seen us and rushed inside. Others knelt and stayed in the position even after we passed. Joshua chuckled and wrapped his arm around my waist. My face was hot from the contact. I gulped as a man and woman ran from the palace. The woman had long red hair with long flowing white robes rimmed with gold lace. The man had a white suit with a flowing white and gold cap, his black hair slicked back. Their crowns we're simple jewel encrused gold things you normally see in the movies. They looked young despite the fact that they must have been st least eighty something. No offence to them.
They stopped short of us and the shield that had formed around us fell back a few paces. Willow went to join the king and queen. Joshua arm stayed around my waist. I froze as they gazed at me and back to Joshua. They shook their heads, tears rolling from their eyes. Joshua ran to them. They embraced with sobs and kisses. They fell to their knees due to them shaking so badly.
When they finally calmed down Joshua stepped back. The king grasped Joshua's shoulders and said "Welcome home, son. We have missed you so much. And look at you! You haven't aged a day!"
Joshua laughed and turned to me. "I guess that's just what happened when you locked up in a White Willow tree for years on end dying from a stomach wound." He said holding his hand out to me.
I don't know why but I felt compelled to take it. As I did his parents looked at me with wide, shocked eyes. But then it melted away and turned to a soft, kind expression. The queen placed a hand on my shoulder and hugged me. "Thank you for bringing back our son." She whispered in my ear. She turned back to Joshua and announced in a loud, soft voice "tonight we celebrate the return of my son! And the one who brought him back home!"
The courtyard flew into a loud happy cheer. The royals lead Joshua and I into the palace. The family said their goodbyes and went seperste ways, preparing for the celebration. I went with Joshua.
We made our way through corridors and hallways. We passed servants who greeted us and hugged Joshua then went back to work. Just when I was beginning to think we we're lost Joshua opened a door and stepped inside. He turned back to me and motioned for me to come in. I stepped into the room and closed the door. "You can call me Josh you know." He said kindly looking around the room smiling. This must have been his bedroom.
In one corner sat a row of floor to ceiling bookshelves and a fireplace. In the center of that were two bean bag chairs and a white sofa. To my left stood a large door and on the opposite wall stood another door. The bathroom and closet I guessed. Directly in front of us was a large king size bed with gold and black sheets.
I nodded to Josh as he turned to me. To my surprise he grabbed my hands and pulled me onto the bed laughing. "Joshu-er-Josh, are you really the prince?"
"Yes." He said smiling and wrapping his arm around me again.
