Chapter 9

Zane was walking with Dakota to the game store once again. "Zane," a voice called from behind. Zane and Dakota both turned around. A boy ran up and hugged Zane. Zane hugged him back. "Hey Aiden. Its been a while," Zane said with a smile. "Yea it has I've been busy," Aiden replied smiling. Dakota nudged Zane's arm. "Oh Aiden this is my friend Dakota," Zane said. "Hello," Aiden said shyly. "Hey," Dakota replied. "Wait here Dakota. I gotta talk to Aiden," Zane said. "Alrighty man make it fast. Im on a time limit," Dakota replied. Zane nodded at Dakota then pulled Aiden aside. "Something wrong Aiden you looked a little upset," Zane asked. "Yeah im alright," Aiden replied quietly. "Your not alright Aiden. I can tell somethings bothering you," Zane replied. Aiden looked up at Zane and saw he was a bit worried. He then looked at the ground and started to cry. Zane saw the tears hit the sidewalk and he hugged Aiden. "Hey man you can tell me anything and I'll help you anyway i can," Zane said while hugging Aiden. Hearing this Aiden started to cry harder and he tightened his grip on Zane.

Just then Dakota was approached by two girls. "Hey little brother," one girl said. "Hey Dakota," the other said. Dakota turn around and saw his sister Casey and Zane's little sister Zaire. "Since when did you two hang out," Dakota asked. "Since i bumped into her earlier at the mall," Casey replied. "Oh really now," Dakota said. "Yep," Zaire said. Casey saw Zane and Aiden hugging. "What's going on there," Casey asked pointing at Zane and Aiden. Zaire looked where Casey was pointing. "It's my brother hugging someone it looks like," Zaire said a bit confused. "Zane is hugging Aiden. I just met the kid. He is nice but a bit shy. We ran into once in school. But i didn't know Zane had befriended him," Dakota replied. "I've seen him around Zane a few times. He always hugs him and smiles at him. Zane will hug and smile at him back. There was a couple times another guy interfered," Zaire said. "I see. Well it looks like that poor kid is crying," Casey said. "Yea he looked upset when he approached us," Dakota said. "They seem really close," Casey said. "Yea," Zaire agreed. "They are friends you guys," Dakota said. They started talking while waiting on Zane.

"Aiden do you want to go for a walk. Will that help calm you down," Zane asked still hugging Aiden. "A..a..are y..y..you s..s..sure y..y..tour fri...end is wai...ting for yo...u," Aiden asked still hugging Zane tightly. "Yes man. Im your friend also. Where ever you want to go," Zane answered. Aiden burried his face in Zane's jacket and "can we go for a walk through the woods." Zane said yes then let go of Aiden. "Let me go tell Dakota. I'll be right back," Zane said. Aiden nodded wipping his tears. He stood there waiting for Zane. "Is he alright Zane," Dakota asked. "He hasn't said what's wrong. Just keeps crying. When did you two get here," Zane replied. "Not long ago," Zaire answered. "Oh i didn't realize you guys were here. Anywho Dakota I'll catch you later," Zane said. "Hey man where you going. We were going to the game store," Dakota said. "Im gonna stay with Aiden til he calms down. I'll message you later," Zane said then walked back over to Aiden. "I'll go with you. I love video games," Zaire said. "Are you sure. Zane says i take forever," Dakota said looking away from Zane and Aiden. "Yea im sure. Zane doesn't like games," Zaire said. "You two have fun. Dakota I'll see you at home," Casey said then left.

Aiden and Zane were walking through the woods. "Aiden are you feeling better," Zane asked. "Yes much better thanks. Im sorry," Aiden replied. "What you apologizing for," Zane asked. "I took you away from your friend," Aiden answered. Zane stopped walking and turned towards Aiden. He then proceeded to hug him. "Aiden you were upset. Dakota will understand. Don't worry," Zane said. Aiden hugged Zane back and started to cry again. "Aiden what's wrong. Why are you crying again," Zane asked worried. "Z..Z..Zane," Aiden said voice shaking. Aiden tightened his grip on Zane's jacket and was crying harder. Zane continued to hug Aiden. "Aiden its alright. Im still here. Tell me what's wrong. Remember I'm here for you," Zane said gently. Aiden was shocked by how gentle Zane was being. Aiden let go of Zane and looked up at him. He whipped his tears and sighed. "Haruka and my friend David got into a fight. It ended badly. Both of them got hurt. But David was injured more. He hasn't answered me in weeks. Im worried and Haruka hasn't been the same since then," Aiden said shaking. Zane hugged Aiden out of no where. Aiden stood there surprised. Aiden and Zane stood there like that for a while.
