Chapter 4

Hello!

At last! We’re home already and the flood is stopped! Me and Mousse are cleaning our yard in this morning because they look soooo dirty when we’re returning here. So we decide to clean it up under the light of the sun. And today, our plan is hanging out and walk around the park.

I kept mopping the floor because the floor is dirty! And of course... smelly. Just... ew!

“When will we go out?” I asked

“Mmm... maybe in few hours after we finish this cleaning session” Mousse answered

“Okay! I feel so annoyed on this smell but whatever” i said and mopping again

“Hahaha, same...” he said and mopping on the other side

We kept mopping the “smelly” floor that caused by that flood, our neighbors also did the same thing like us, it seems that flood left us busy, what a busy day for us and for the neighborhood too. After few minutes, we’re done and entering the house.

“Phew! Finally done! What a busy morning for us” I said

“Yeah, all because of that cursed flood” Mousse said

“That flood is more than a cursed thing that left and making us busy like this” i said

“Yep, that flood is so cursed, they didn’t even help us cleaning” Mousse said

“You silly boy, how come a flood helps us clean the mess they caused? They will made it even worse” i said, laughing

“Yeah, you’re right” he said and laughed with me

After enough laughing, we continued to watching TV, It’s still 8 AM. Maybe Mousse would take me out at 10, let’s see.... i’m pretty bored staying at home, I wanna go out. Maybe he didn’t mind jf i gave him a little reminder

“Mousse, when will we go out as we promised before” i asked

“At 9, we should visit the bookstore, there’s a new volume of my favorite series! I want to get it!” Mousse said

“Alright then! If that could complete your entire collection, we should go” I said

“Okay, we’ll go in an hour! You better prepared 15 minutes earlier” Mousse said

“Okay my best friend forever and for an eternity or maybe for two eternity or more” i said

“Haha, that’s a long one” Mousse reacted

“Yeah and you deserve a longer” I answered

We watch the TV again and it’s half past 8 AM, it’s only 30 minutes left until we’re going out. I’m too excited even i can’t decide where to go first! Maybe visit the bookstore? Good idea.

“Let’s visit the bookstore first” Mousse said

“That’s what i want to tell you earlier, how did yo-“

“I can read your mind, so i know what you’re about to say” he said and winked

“You’re a miracle boy” i said

Shortly, the time we’ve waited is finally arriving! It’s 9 AM! But damn! I forgot to prepare myself! But i don’t care, i will kept wear my red t shirt with cherry picture printed in it, green armwarmers, green trousers with red belt and red shoes. I went to my room to take some dollars for shopping.

Mousse already waited for me outside, now i’m ready and nothing left, i go to him.

“Ready to go?” Mousse asked

“Yeah! I’m so ready!” I answered

“Fantastic! Off we go” Mousse said then we started walking

We started walking out the neighborhood into the downtown, first destination, Oniontown Book Store to bought some books. I wanted to bought one too because i loved reading until now. It’s only 1 km from here. Mousse always told me that walking is better than riding a vehicle. It’s free and more healthier.

We kept talking on our way to the bookstore, the air here is fresh with no pollution. That’s one of the reason i love the air of Oniontown. After few minutes, we’re arrived at the bookstore and entered it immediately.

“Welcome to Oniontown Bookstore” an employee greeted us kindly

“Thank you” i thanked her and looked for the book Mousse wanted

Then me and Mousse stared to walked around the shelves to look for the book.

“What kind of book you wanted” i asked

“Volume 9 of “Detective Highmore”.” He answered

“Oh cool! I never read that book to be honest” i said

“You should read it, it’s one of the best books for detective genre” Mousse said

“Oh okay, i’ll check out one of your book later, and i’ve got my french dictionary, let’s pay for these” i said and we went to the cashier

We waited in the line, lucky the line wasn’t too long. As we’re standing at the front, the cashier greeted kindly.

“Good morning” the cashier smiled at us

“Morning” i smiled back to her and gave our books

The cashier scanned our book and then put it in our bag then told us the cost of all the books we bought

“That will be $35” the cashier said

We handed the money according to our own book cost, Mousse handed $20 because his book costed $20, and i handed $15 because my dictionary costed $15.

“Thanks for buying book here, please come again” the cashier said kindly and we left the store

Next Destination: Papa’s Scooperia

We also planned to visit Scooperia on this hot noon. We’re headed straight to the Scooperia after leaving the book store, and Scooperia located not so far from this bookstore. So walking was fine for us.

**“**I can’t wait to try one of their special cookie sundae” i said

“Really? I’d rather have some triple choco sundae” Mousse answered

“I know, you loved chocolate so much” i said

“Yup, you know me” he said

“Of course i know you, you’re my best friend”

“Awww...”

After 20 minutes, we’re arrived at the Scooperia and sat on one of the available Dinning Table. Shortly, a waitress approached us and brought the order ticket. I’m guessing she wanted to took our order.

“Hello, what would you like to order?” The waitress asked

“I would like to order the “Banana Split” special, please” i told my order

“Okay, and you?” She asked to Mousse

“Triple Choco please” Mousse said

“Noted, please wait for a few minutes”

“Thank you” i thanked

We talked while waiting for our order to came, we talked about many things. And once again, we swore that we would never ever left each other and torn this friendship apart. Shortly, our order came. The waiter put it on our table and we started to eaten it, and we enjoyed it.

“Mmm... Scooperia serves the best sundae ever in this town!” I said and enjoying my sundae

“I’m agree with you, all Papa’s restaurant serves the best food in the town!” Mousse agreed

“Yeah, the taste isn’t playing around! They are truly the best!” I said

“Totally agreed! I want to visit here like everyday, but i’m scared on becoming fat” He answered

Then we laughed and eaten our sundae, after this i wanna go home, but i’ve promosed Mousse that we will walked around the park, damn, the sun isn’t playing around. It’s so light outside, i had a feeling that the weather was hot, but lucky, we’re here to get some treats! And anyway, the banana split special is so tasty! I also had one scoop on Mousse’s sundae, and it tasted good!

After few scooping our spoon, our sundae is finished, I head to the cashier to paid, I also paid for Mousse because he’s my best friend. After that, we left the store and yeah, the weather is hot.

Now we’re heading to the park.

“Damn! So hot!” I said, sweated

“Agreed, but lucky i bring my hat, and you don’t, haha!” He mocked me

“Darn you!” I said then stole Mousse’s hat and wear it

“This is better...”

“You’re totally right, today is so hot. I could melt here”

“You’re too overreacting”

“No i’m not, give me back my hat”

“Okay” i said and returned the hat

After few minutes, Finally we’re arrived at the park, it’s not very hot here due many trees, we walked around the park and saw a cool fountain, and found an ice cream stall! Lucky!

“Can we get a cone of chocolate ice cream, please?” I said

“Sure thing” the ice cream seller said

The ice cream seller serves us two cones of chocolate ice cream and Mousse paid it 2 dollars and after that we sat on a nearby bench and we started to talked.

“Do you miss your sister?” I asked

“I always missed her and i always hoping to meet her again, she’s on Frostfield for now and i missed her. But that’s where she worked, hopefully she will go home later this year” Mousse answered

“I feel you, i know that feeling” i said and finish my ice cream

“Wow, so fast!”

“Yeah, you know me, a fast eater”

“Yeah... oh damn, the cloud suddenly turning into grey above, let’s go home!” He said and we went away

The weather suddenly changed, from a hot sunny into dark cloudy, i think it will be raining soon, so that’s why we went away and heading back to our house. What a short time at the park, i loved that place. We walked fast on our way back to the house because the sky is getting darker now, hopefukku we could arrive home before it’s rainy...

“Hurry, we must get back home before it rains!” Mousse said

“I’m on my fastest walk, let’s run!” I said and we ran

*After 20 minutes, we’re arrived home. And damn, it’s rainy already. But not heavy rain, still light. I washed my hair immediately \(so that i won’t catch a headache\) and sat on the living room and watching TV. And the rain becoming heavy outside. This is perfect*

“Hey Paddy, i heard some rumors that a new neighbor will be coming soon and lived in the empty house beside us” Mousse said

“Really? That’s amazing!” I said

“Yeah, can i watch TV with you?” He asked

“Okay!” I answered

We watched the TV together and it’s our favorite comedy show! Everytime there’s a funny moment, we laughed. What a day for us.
