The Ugly Truth

The book was about human sacrifices! I flipped through the book and decided to keep it on me for the time being. I then saw the guy I talked to the one with emerald eyes and blonde hair. I quickly walked to him but stopped when I heard bickering about something. I had to get closer. I peeked and saw it was the blonde haired guy with someone that had black hair. I knew something was off and went back to Joseph in the captains place. I was out of breath by the time I got there. I searched through everything on the captains desk and found a dagger, a vile with some red liquid inside, and a purple peice of paper that had strange writing on it. I put this into a small bag that was found in here I turned to Joseph and found some bandages. I bandaged his leg and had to carry Joseph on my shoulders. I was determined to live even if I had to take drastic measures. I walked out of the captains quarters and went to the deck to check the damage. The water was already flooding in and everyone started to panic one person fainted.

Then I saw James. “James!” I yelled as I tried to run towards him with Joseph on my back.Oh Mackenzie!” He said with a smile on his face. His skin glowed in the sunlight and made his features more visible. I turned a light red but the wind cooled me off. I sat Joseph down to talk with James. James told me what happened at the top deck. A memory hit me hard. The captain didn’t eat. That made me double over in extreme pain. Something was terribly wrong with this ship. I was suddenly very scared. The ship creaked and rocked back. Everyone stared grimly into the water as the ship started to sink further into the water. I looked over the side of the boat to see why no one was evacuating. We had no life boats. A girl looked over the side and started to bawl while saying no. There was something far darker on the surface then a shipwreck. Water started to fill in at the end of the boat. The ship was now standing up sideways. People started to fall and slide down screaming. I quickly grabbed Joseph's and James's hands to grab a metal bar. We were dangling at least 50 ft above the water and if we were to plummet we would surely die on impact. It was getting hard to hold onto the bar. James swung his body and crawled on top of the metal bar and reached out his hand out.
