Little Bit of Satisfaction

After a month's hard work all of the departments were able to finish their project related work. We all were badly exhausted. We worked overtime, skipped meals, slept like dead. The launching fest was tomorrow. I was making coffee for me and andy in the pantry. Suddenly Kathy appeared with three tickets of a show.

"Look, Lily. Whay I've brought for you! Concert tickets! And guess what, your favourite band will be performing there too!"

Kathy seemed so excited. In one month she had become most trustworthy friend. Yes, 'friend' that I never had in my lifetime. We shared our almost every sectets, except my marriage and my baby. I also felt guilty for that. She opened her closet of secrets to me but I was not fully dedicated. Still I was planning to tell her everything one day. However, Andy turned into an important person who is more than a friend. I found out I had a crush on him. It was so humiliating. So I never confessed it to anyone.

Her words made me excited for a certain moment. The next moment I went more down.

"I really want to go, Kat. But these concerts ends at midnight. We will have sleepovers and definately be late tomorrow at work."

"In which world do you live in, beauty? Haven't you heard, our CEO has grant a one day off to everyone. Don't you trust your Kitkat?" Kathy's face was glowing with a naughty smile.

"Of course I trust you! When are we leaving then?"

"Everyone is allowed to leave early today. Lets leave after lunch. Then get some rest at home. But remember to be at central railway station at 5 pm. We have to get a good standing spot," Andy described the plan taking the coffee mug away from my hand. His fingers touched mine. I was zoned out. Not even a single word entered my ears.

"Hey, are you here?" Kat snapped in front of my eyes.

"Yeah. Of course. Um. What time did you say Andy?" I wanted to avoid the awkwardness.

They both rolled their eyes. "Just get ready by 5. I'll pick you up," Kat muttered.

"Okay then." I got back to work with my coffee. I felt really different today, still empty. The life I wanted to live as a young girl was in front of me. I picked up my phone and dialed mom's number. I could not talk properly with her these days.

"Are you okay, dear?"

"Yes, mom. Perhaps, 90%?"

"What's wrong with the rest 10%?"

"It takes time to heal mom. I've got Andy and Kathy here with me. So don't worry."

"Have you got your monthly checkup?"

"No. I forgot. You know how much pressure I have undergone this month? I could not even call you regularly."

"Yeah I know. But you really should get checked up."

"Sure. Mom, Do you know I am going to a concert with friends today? I am so happy!"

"Wow. Go enjoy yourself. Don't forget to wash yourself up before going to bed."

"Okay mom. Take care of yourself and dad." I hung up the call with a smile of satisfaction.
