Chapter 1

Annalise pov:

"Mommy, does the people in my new school speak our language?" my 6 year old son asked with curiosity in his voice "Yes, Matthew" I replied as I pack uo his drawer. I bough this nice apartment here in Italy where you can almost see the whole city, I feel relife I ran away from that nightmare. Thank god I stole enough money to get this apartment and also provide for me and my son.

I also got a job at Giarusso's Industries after that interview I had last friday had I'm starting tomorrow and also my son who's starting kindergarten. Matthew was like a double ganger of me only he's a boy he had blonde hair and blue eyes just like me.

"C'mon now, it's bed time you've got a big day tomorrow" I cover him with the duvet "Are we safe now mommy?" he asked, I remembered he witnessed his father beating me which give him a trauma till this day "Yeah we are safe" I kiss him on his forehead "Are you getting treatment for your scars?" he asked "Yes, mommy is healed now get some sleep" I turn off his lamp before existing his room.

Matthew is a smart kid and knows alot including protecting himself. I then retired to my bed as tomorrow will be an hectic day, the next morning I woke up around 5 to make my son his breakfast and lunch before waking him up. After breakfast we got ready before heading.

I had enrolled Matthew into this School that named 'Italy's American Academy' so it wouldn't be hard for Matthew to understand Italian "Mommy, do you think I'll get friends?" my son asked "You'll make great friends" I held his hand. As we entered we were greeted by the teacher "Ok guys settle down, today we'll be having a new friend with us and his name is Matthew Johnso" the teacher announced to the class.

"Matthew please have a seat at the back" the teacher pointed "Go on be a good boy, mommy loves you" I said while he went to his seat "Ms. Niles, my soon isn't really hyper as other kids so do you mind watching him on the playground" I said "Sure no get to work before it gets late" I nod before sprinting out of there.

I put my pass on the scanner before the glass door open, I chose the marketing department as I was kinda good at that and besides this is a multi company where they do civil engineering, architecture, shipping and market and also the company has employees from all around the world.

I stepped out of the elevator where I was greeted by a girl who has a creepy smile "I'm Lucinda Hale, your manager and over there is Terence Thomas he's your supervisor" I shaked her hand "I'm Annalise Johnson" I said "Your desk is right next to the brown hair girl" she pointed, I just nod in response before going to my desk.

My working environment was really peaceful and no one noticed me which is what I was expecting, I look like a nerd but without glasses "Hey newbie, analyze these files before lunch" a girl who looked a little older than me but is very tall and had a rude look on her face "And the name is Celine Carter" she said before walking away.

After analyzing the files a I gave them back to Celine, everyone had already left for lunch so I just got a white paper and drew anything that came to my mind. Being new here is good I guess I didn't kniw much about this place so I decided to sit there and starve myself until I got home.

As I was deep in my thoughts someone tapped me on my shoulder which made me a little startled "Yes" I said "Aren't you having lunch?" the male asked and I then remembered he was my supervisor "Mr. Thomas well I'm new here so I thought...." I trailed off "You thought no one would wanna eat with you and please call me Terence" he flashed me a smile.

The cafeteria was huge and I'm surprised all the seats are full "Hey guys, I bought a new friend" I looked up to see to see my manager and some other girl "Oh hi, Annalise come sit!" she gestured me and I sat with my tray of food "Your rather dressed so plain" the unknown girl said.

"I'm Risa Nakamoto and your dressed rather plain" she said "Um..it's just that I'm not really a fashion geek" I said nervously "Well you should dress more properly and wear makeup" she then went away. That's nothing new I've been told worse than that.

"I'm sorry about her, she's not use to having new friends" Lucinda said. After work I went to pick up Matthew at school "Hi there, how was your first day of school?" my voice caught his attention "Mommy! your here! school wasn't that good I got bullied on my first day" he said with sadness in his voice.

"I'm sorry to hear that but hi! why don't we make you some of your favorite dinosaur nuggets and some of your barbecue chips" his face brighten up "Yes" he said happily "Let's go" I held his hand. I thank god every day for having such a good son whi keeps me company and always look out for me.
