Chapter 4: Quest World

Professor Mono was intrigued. Zian was known in the class as the 'Ruins Maniac' because of his particular attentiveness when it comes to ruins, especially the ruins involved in Martial Arts.

"Oh? What is our Ruins Maniac doing to even prevent him from exploring the ruins?" Professor Mono teased.

"Just some matters." Zian responded. He cannot tell anyone that the world will have a game inside their heads ten days from now. He would be considered as a fool. So why even bother?

"Ok do what you need to do." Professor Mono said.

"Professor, can I go home already? There's something important for me to do."

"Is it really that important?" Professor Mono asked: "You going home this early is very outrageous. The class hours barely even started!"

"Yes Prof. It is really THAT important." Zian responded.

"Really? Okay. I'll submit the report to excuse you. Wait for me here." After that, Professor Mono walked out of the room towards the school office.

"You got something important Zian? Even to the point of you canceling the trip to the ruins?" Dylan asked.

"Yes. I need to do it. Maybe even to the point of not attending school for ten days."

"T-ten days!?" His classmates were shocked. This is the first time for eternity for Zian to go absent for that long.

A while later, Professor Mono returned and gave Zian a letter: "Here. Show this to Bard and go do your thing."

"Thanks Prof!" Zian responded.

Zian borrowed the article that he touched earlier and ran out of the Archaeological District.

A while later, nearing the school gate, Bard stopped him: "Where are you going boy?"

Zian answered Bard while catching his breath: "Something important just came." He gave Bard the form: "Here's the form." After doing that he ran straight to a bus preparing to live and rode it.

He arrived at the Marsh Villa's gate and ran to his house. He entered his home and prepared some food and stuff that he might need inside the 'Quest World'.

After preparing, he looked for the 'Inventory' the system was talking about.

At the bottom right corner of the system panel, a blue button with the symbol of a backpack and the word 'Inventory' can be seen.

He tried to click it with his fingers but it didn't work.

"System, how can I access the Inventory?"

[Don't try to touch it with your fingers. If you do so, what will other people think of you? A crazy person?]

"Just tell me how to access the Inventory." Zian was very annoyed. He didn't know anything about the system but does it need to pick on him?

[Look at the Inventory system and think of wanting to access it.] The system responded.

'Ooh convenient!' Zian thought.

After doing so, the inventory icon expanded.

An 8x10 game inventory showed itself from the expanded icon.

One of the inventory boxes contains a white disk. He took it out by thinking and suddenly, his hands are already holding the white disk.

It is a big, white, and weightless disk. A small blue dome shaped thing in the middle of the device. It looks like a UFO ship minimized to the size of a game console.

"How can I use this? Drip my blood or something?"

[Absolutely not. You're going to dirty the clean pad. Push the blue button in the middle and twist it clockwise. It will do the rest.]

"Okay." Zian responded. He pushed the blue button and twisted it according to the system.

After doing so, projection of starlights appeared above the pad.

[Put it down. The portal will open soon.] Suddenly, the system talked.

"Why didn't you say so earlier?" Zian was shocked. Zian immediately put it down and walked two steps away.

Ten seconds later, the starlights converged and became a vast looking space filled with stars and worlds.

[The portal is opened. You can now enter.] The system said.

Zian walked inside the portal and he immediately blacked out.

He woke up on a vast grassland. A peaceful wind breeze blew in his ears. The sky is so blue, and the sun is warm. Birds flew up above the sky, flowers were blooming near him with butterflies landing on top of them.

In the east, he sees a towering fort kilometers away from him. It's walls are black and the palace inside it is pure grey from age. A red flag with a golden eastern dragon was fluttering above the palace tower. 

In the north, a city was located. A black banner with a saber symbol in the middle of it was fluttering in front of the city entrance.

He was visually shocked. Not because of the beauty of the surrounding sceneries, but because of a whole different matter.

[Current location: Milliez Grasslands, south of the Middle Central Lands.]

"C-central Lands!?"

How can Zian not be shocked? He was living for more than a decade now in another world and, in a sweep of fortune, he came back to his world from his past life. Even more so, in his empire.

[Year: 2 years after the founding of Burning Sun Empire.]

"2 years after the founding of the Empire?  I still haven't conquered the grasslands right? At this time, we're just going to start conquering inwards the Central Lands." Zian said.

[Quest: Your past self is preparing to conquer the Central Lands inwards. Join your men to conquer Blood Bandit City.]

[Quest Rewards: can be brought/used outside the Quest World: 10 points, Myriad Knowledge Library, five Warrior Summoning Token, Eye of Identification.]

"Myriad Knowledge Library?"

[All of your past knowledge regarding the world of Idris including histories, cultivation scriptures, and techniques.]

"A-all of them!?" Zian was surprised. All of his knowledge regarding cultivation were mysteriously washed away before. So him getting it back was a huge help for him.

While Zian was surprised, a man riding a horse sees him and shouted: "Hey, young man! Come over here!"

Zian looked at the man. His eyes enlarged like crazy and, unknowingly, moist appeared in his eyes.

The man looked like a general. His silver armor reflected the sun's rays, making him look like a dazzling man. His eyes looked kind but with a closer look, you can see the battles he have fought had affected his eyes. 

His red cape fluttered with the wind. A symbol of a bird behind a sun was imprinted on the middle of it.

His long hair was tied with a red bandana, enhancing his general looks.

Zian knew this person. In fact, they are so close with each other that you can say that they have been with each other through thick and thin.

He is Eleander Flame. One of his childhood friends and one that came with him and trained for a very long time.

Together, they defeated countless geniuses and eventually became well known.

Zian looked at Eleander with emotions of happiness and grief. Their time together was special for him. And the last time they saw each other was fifteen years before the last battle at the enemy empire of Long.

Eleander died after covering an arrow for him from behind while fighting against one of the strongest generals under the enemy.

Seeing him again was his great joy and great pain. All emotions converged in him and this made him very sad. Tears should have bursted like a broken dam stopping the sea, but he managed to hold it in.

"Yes sir. What do you need?" Zian asked

"Hmm, we are lacking some men in our army. Would you like to join us?" Eleander asked.
