In hindsight, Jungkook knows he shouldn’t be surprised by this. He knows how Taehyung works, he had suspected he was up to something. But does that stop the betrayal from burning up his insides? Not at all.
“You had a bet to throw off our bet?” Jungkook wiggles a thumb between him and Hoseok, who does not at all seem upset by this. “So I would lose to my greatest enemy?”
Taehyung glances at him and nods. He sits beside Yoongi, which is where he belongs. With the traitors. “Yep.”
Jungkook’s jaw drops open as he stares at his boyfriend, who looks very relaxed about this. Leaning back on one arm, he just looks over Jungkook with lidded eyes. There’s a spark in them when he arches a challenging brow that makes Jungkook want to kick him under the table.
“Babe, don’t look so shocked, you still won.”
Jungkook looks to Hoseok to confirm this, but he immediately glares, upper lip curling before he argues, “No, you didn’t.”
“Yes we did. Yoongi and I calculated. You two started fucking ten minutes before Jungkook and I. You were a little too enthusiastic that that video would work.”
Hoseok scoffs and glares at Yoongi next. Both traitors, Jungkook wants to remind him. “Oh, that’s bogus. No way in hell. Why wouldn’t you lie, babe? Lie .”
“Like you did when you said we would win an all expense paid trip to L.A.?”
Hoseok crosses his arms, eyes narrowing. “Why would you believe that in the first place? And why are we counting by minutes? If we’re being that specific, then I argue that you two started when I was still in your damn house!”
Jungkook rolls his eyes, amused. He opens his mouth to argue that, but a thump beneath the table has him pressing them closed.
“You’re lucky I love you,” Yoongi says with a smile that says just how much he does. “And I already bought you the damn sneakers, baby love. I was going to give them to you for Christmas.”
Hoseok’s face goes slack as he just stares at Yoongi, a moment before he nearly leaps across the table to tackle him back onto their living room floor. Yoongi complains like he’s dying, but then there’s the distinct sound of them kissing.
A shoe presses into Jungkook’s leg, drawing his attention back to Taehyung. He shines with a soft smile, beautiful as always. Even more so with a neck littered in finger shaped bruises and a swollen mouth that Jungkook already misses even though they made out right before coming over here to discuss their bet.
“Yoongi was supposed to take over my Saturday’s at work so I could have my birthday off. Which doesn’t matter, right? You have nothing planned?”
Jungkook’s ears burn instantly. He’s only been planning Taehyung’s birthday since his last one, and he considers asking Yoongi to take over that Saturday anyway because he has an extensive list of activities for them to do. Ones that he can add to now that Taehyung’s getting his gaming system. “What do you have to do since you lost?”
He’s avoiding answering because he sucks at lying. Thankfully, Taehyung doesn’t call him out on it. “Watch the devil cat.”
Jungkook presses a hand to his chest in fear. “Oh god, no wonder you were so determined.”
Taehyung flicks a piece of food at him. “You’ll be watching him with me.”
Jungkook’s groan is faked. More time with Taehyung? He’ll take it, even if the cat eats all his shoelaces like it always does. “The things I do for you.”
Taehyung’s grin grows, eyebrows wagging. He stretches his neck as if to show off the marks on his throat. “Wanna discuss the things you can do to me?”
Before Taehyung can finish, Jungkook is out of his seat with his hand out. Taehyung laughs as he grabs it, and Jungkook doesn’t care if it makes Hoseok call them the horniest couple again. He seems too busy peppering kisses to Yoongi’s face to notice anyway.
“You’re too easy,” Taehyung laughs as he wraps around his back and presses a kiss to his face.
“You’re easier,” Jungkook shoots back like a habit.
Taehyung nibbles on his cheek playfully, his body vibrating with laughter. It sparks a warmth inside of Jungkook. An innocent one that wraps around his heart. “That’s bullshit, and you know it.”
Jungkook whips around, a smile still on his face as he grabs Taehyung’s hips to guide him to Hoseok and Yoongi’s front door. He’s down for a challenge, always. “Wanna bet on it?”
The amusement slips from Taehyung’s face as he rolls his eyes. He looks as if he is going to say no, but Jungkook knows better. Knows that Taehyung likes these challenges just as much as he does. “Of course I do.”
“You’re on, baby.”
The confidence inside of Jungkook that he will prove Taehyung wrong hesitates and turns to something more like uncertainty when Taehyung leans in and brushes their lips together before he says, “No **** December, here we go.”
Jungkook falters when Taehyung lets go of him and strides through the doorway. “Taehyung, I was just kidding.”
But Taehyung steps out without a response other than the mischievous grin he throws over his shoulder. Taehyung teases him about how stubborn and competitive he is, but he’s just as bad. Sweat builds over Jungkook’s neck as he chases after him.
He’s screwed, and not in the way he wants to be.
“Okay, the bet is off,” Jungkook says as he wraps himself around Taehyung’s back. “You win. What’s your prize?”
Taehyung’s cheeks bunch around his smile when he turns around. “That fast? I need a moment to think.”
Jungkook’s a bit nervous, eyes rolling because who knows what ridiculous thing Taehyung will ask for. His **** better thank him for whatever it is that he has to do. The times he has lost to Taehyung before has ended up with him doing Taehyung’s hard as shit homework, talking to his gossipy, blabbermouth mother after her weekly book club meetings for a month, and wearing an ‘if lost return to babe’ shirt that matched Taehyung’s ‘I’m babe’ shirt to every party they went to in the summer.
But his nerves fade away when Taehyung cups Jungkook’s cheek so softly that he barely feels it. He leans into it so he can, no longer taking advantage of how it feels to have Taehyung’s touch.
“Tell me you love me.”
And that’s probably the easiest thing Jungkook’s ever done. It falls from his mouth without hesitation. “I love you.”
Taehyung’s grin grows as he flicks his fingers beneath Jungkook’s chin. “I love you more.”
Jungkook can’t help himself, amusement building inside of him as he wags a brow at Taehyung. “Wanna bet on it?”
