3. Car pooling

I was laying down on my bed, checking my phone, when mom called

"Honey!"

"Yeah mom?" I shouted back

"There's a new neighbour in our street. Come down, I want you to meet them, they're really nice and this boy here is your age."

"Coming mom!"

Damien, ugh!!

I got up from my bed, descending the stairs when I found my mom was talking to someone.

"Mom?" I called out to her.

She turned and beamed, "Oh honey, you came," she moved aside and my mouth was already on the floor. Mom came to me and said, "I know you're happy, meeting Evan after so many years."

I looked at her in disbelief but she got no idea and continued, "And you know what's the best part?"

I shook my head still unable to recover myself to speak. I was looking at Evan, who was enjoying this way too much.

"He's going to go with you."

This snapped my attention to her.

"What? Where?" I asked

"Ofcourse, to your school. He applied with you."

I looked back at Evan and glared at him. He was suppressing a smile.

"And you're car pooling with him."

"No mom!" I snapped

"What?" Mom asked, "what's the problem?"

"I'm fine mom, I can walk to school. Alone."

"Yes honey, you can but you're not and that's final." Mom glared at me and that was enough to shut me up.

"Okay."

"Oh and there's one more thing."

"What?"

And with that the front door opened, all our eyes snapped to the door.

It was Dad, he came in,

"What's happening?" Dad asked

"Oh nothing important honey, You go and change into some casuals" mom said

"Hmm" Dad nodded, "and Hi Evan, long time no see"

Evan replied, "Hello Mr.Woods"

Dad came towards me and kissed me on my forehead, "How was your day princess?"

I snorted, "Extremely great" sarcasm dripping from my mouth

"We'll talk about it princess."

"Yeah dad, even I want to."

He nodded and went to his room.

"So yeah, what was I saying?" Mom continued but the door opened again. All our eyes snapped to the door.

This time it was Damien.

Oh wait, IT WAS DAMIEN!!

"Yeah, come child, I was just saying" Damien came inside and shook hands with mom, "Hello Mrs Woods."

"Hello Damien" my mom replied then she turned to me and said, "Amelia, meet Damien, our another neighbour and yeah the same story, same school and therefore same car." Mom said a little bored.

"What? Why?" This time Evan and I said at the same time.

"Because sweetheart it doesn't make sense, two people carrying different cars to go to the same destination."

"Yeah and afterall I'm a fun guy to hang around with." Damien intervened.

"Now, we all go to our home, and don't waste our time anymore." Mom said finally.

Evan and Damien soon left.

After that nothing important happened. I slept late last night disturbed thinking how disturbed my day is going to be tomorrow.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm, groaning I got out of my bed. I slept really late last night, just thinking about today. I went to the bathroom yawning.

After 20min, I was ready to leave. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen to mom.

Mom looked at me and smiled, "The boys will be here in 5minutes."

I sighed. Too much for a little soul like me to suffer like this.

I was sitting in the chair, when the boys entered the kitchen.

"Goodmorning Mrs Woods." Both wished simultaneously.

"Goodmorning boys, and please call me Lydia." Then looking at me she said, "Mia I think you start moving or you'll get late."

Groaning I stood up and started walking towards the exit. Both the boys followed me. Soon after we were out, I turned around. Both of them stopped too and raised their eyebrows.

Ignoring them I asked," So who's car are we taking?"

"Ofcourse mine, Your mom made me incharge." Evan stated as if it was obvious.

Damien turned to him, "Whoa there, we are taking my car."

"No we are taking mine!" Evan glared

"No, mine." Damien glared back.

Both were glaring at each other when I jumped in,

"We'll get late if you don't stop this conversation." Both turned to me and glared at me, "Ok chill, let's do one thing, we'll take Evan's car for one week and Damien's for other."

They both kept quite,

"So?" I asked

"Hmm, good we are taking my car first for this week." Evan said

"No we are taking my car fir this week." Damien argued back.

"Wait" I called for them, they turned to me, "Let's decide it with a toss." I took out a coin.

"Heads" Evan said,

-"Tails"

I tossed the coin and once it landed, all looked at it curiously.

Suddenly I heard, "Yes!!!! I won!"
