The door slowly opened

"Why didn't you say so?! We must hurry quick get him inside" said the old woman.

"T-Thank you..."

"Now...help me treat his wound..."

I laid the man on a mat and the old woman went to a room and gotten some herbs and bandages to wrap his wound.

She pulled out the knife and set it aside, she used the herbs and wrapped up the wound.

"There.....done..." with that she let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you...for helping us"

"All in the days work....it's good that you got here in time or else he would have died from the lack of blood."

" by any chance..are you a physician?"

"Why..yes I am. I was the Royal Physician to be exact."

"Then...how did you end up here?"

"Well...that's a story I'll save for another time."

"Well..may I atleast know your name?"

"Hmm...it's been a long time since I used my name......Well just call me 'grandma'.... "

"Ok...grandma....by...any chance can we..stay here?"

"As long as you want...I've been wanting some company.."

"Thank you...."

"By the way...are you two...together?" She said while pointing at the man that was still unconscious.

"W-W-What??!!! N-Noo!! I-I just found him by t-the creek and I-I just couldn't leave him there~"

"Hahaha alright...I'll go grab some sheets and pillows..you two can stay in that room.." she pointed to a room down the hall.

I carried him on my back and set him down on the bed.

Gosh. Why do I do this for a stranger...this is really unfair.

He better pay me back once he's awake.

"Mn..guess I'll be sleeping on the floor..."

sigh

This is just weird...a lot has happened in just one day....an arranged marriage..I ran away..there's this injured man that I found on the creek with an unknown background...then I came across this house and met the Royal Physician....this is just too much for me. Whatever...just sleep on it.

Howard's POV

"Damn it. She isn't here..."

Where the heck did that stupid girl run to?!! This is giving me a headache. What should I do now...Whatever, this is a good thing actually now that she's out of the way this engagement's off then. But my parents won't let me sleep because of it.

I stopped searching and went back.

"Guards. Found anything?"

"No Sir..."

"Hmm...Continue searching"

This is just tiring.

I started to head back.

There's no use trying to find her now in the middle of the night. For sure she hid in the woods, making use of the darkness to hide in plain sight. maybe she went in deeper. I'll search again tomorrow.
