Escape

•<•Now•>•

Outside was an unexpected gift of rain. The wet season didn't generally start for another night, but the skies don't lie. I glimpse at the beautiful rain wetting my cell from the caged windows.

I close my eyes resting them calmly, I hear the quenching rain. The percussion of the given water varies according to the surface it wets. There is the beating of drums of the ceiling, the thumping of a heart on the concrete floor, and the sound of the soft keys of a piano as it touches the grass.

The beautiful moon shines so bright up at the beautiful night sky, I've always adored the moon, it was always alone not many cared for it, but it was beautiful, no matter how alone it was in the dark blue skies it would always shine the brightest.

The moon has always been my best friend. It has always been their for me, it never left me. Through my whole childhood, the moon was my only friend. Through my inner sufferings, through my fears, it has always been there.

I look away from the moon and meet eyes with my surroundings.

It's been exactly 12 hours since the armed guards pulled me away and locked me up in a cell—again.

This time they decided to not hang me, the cell was still the same as before, the walls was stained with innocent blood, the concrete floor had scratches done by human nails, torture, stress, insanity was all it signified. Just thinking about all the people who had died in this cell pained me.

I know I act all tough out in public, but truth is—I'm just a scared child who has been abused way too much. Whose innocence was stolen, whose virginity was stolen. Nothing about me was normal. Nothing screamed normal. It was just unimaginable pain that drove me.

I honestly didn't do anything Katsu didn't deserve. I just felt bad that I didn't do enough. Katsu, can never be forgiven. If I don't kill him then I break my promise to all the girls who were prisoners.

I wanted to boil water to it's hottest temperature and pour it on him. After all, that is what he did to me and her.

"Ms. Alexstrasza, Mr. Clide will like to have a chat with you." A guard around his 30's came in my prison cell, keeping his head down throughout the whole time, "I'm not gonna bite." I whispered.

But, he still refused to look at me, after a moment he excused himself inviting a younger man around his 20's come in.

The younger man didn't look at me at first, he simply pulled a wooden stool and sat on it,

The unfamiliar man looked down at the dark curls attached to his head. He ran his hand through is jet black hair that stretched over his scalp, thicker than a freshly harvested field. He smiled, noticing that I was glaring at him.

I could see him slightly change his posture to make him seem more confident or something like that, he clearly had no idea who he was going to interview. Honestly, people would kill to talk to the "Devil" he should really consider himself lucky. I thought to myself as I laughed aloud.

I watched his facial expression change as he pulled out a file.

I wasn't going to get intimidated by him, he could be soft on the inside all he wanted, but his outside had to be tough and composed. It was about time nice guys started to make life interesting, even if they had to look tough to do it.

"Ms. Selina Celeste Alexstrasza.

Age : 16 And Ex- military." He stopped, his hazel eyes gazed curiously at me, as if it were having some sort of difficulty to see me alive.

"Are you seriously going to sit here and tell me things about myself?" I started to twirl my red hair, hoping all the tension would drive the guy out. But, he wasn't giving up.

"Why is your record clean?" He was really trying to look serious but it was obvious to me that he was actually terrified of me. But that is normal, I shouldn't blame him.

"What can I say, I'm a good girl." That obviously wasn't the truth, I wiped out my records after I left the military.

" Then why would you attack Lord Katsu? And how do you explain your murderous skills?"

"Lord Katsu? That is what you call him? A lord?" I bursted out laughing, " You call a man who kidnaps little girls, tortures them and then sells them off to terrible men to do their bidding a Lord? Who knew New York was that low?"

The Clide man lowered his hazel eyes to meet mine. "Katsu has always been a pious man, ma'am. Your information is incorrect. His records are swiped clean!"

I got up from the rock-hard floor and walked closer to him, moving my face so close to him that we were inches apart, I could feel his coffee breath on me, shivering by my touch, Am I really that scary?' I thought.

"So, you want to suspect me for having a clean record but not Katsu? All that advice he gives you all, what? You think he pulled them out of his *** or do you think he has experience? Or do you perhaps think I'm some sort of Lunatic? I'm making this all up for attention? Do you seriously believe I'm not capable of capturing attention without attacking Katsu?" I asked impatiently, I knew he was uncomfortable with how close I was to him, so I took a few steps back.

He looked away and went back to his file. I think he had Katsu's as well. He turned over the file and handed it to me.

Katsu Chang

University Professor

Current Occupation- Therapist

Age: 32

I threw the file at the man and turned away, I had no idea why I felt like I was going crazy. And I didn't want him to see that.

"Besides his name, everything is a lie." I muttered.

"Then tell me how you know him? Tell me the truth then." He asked calmly.

"Information is a weapon. And I don't like to be short in weapons. Besides, you or any of the men in your concierge coiled tube earpiece won't believe me.

I quickly turned to watch his expression tighten, it surprised him that I noticed it, in the first place.

"What do you want in return?"

There was something remarkably off about the man. He had no I.D. at least not a real one, but a really good forged one. His files was not professional, and the seal on the file was a fake. The agency that had that seal went brankrupt three years ago. This man wasn't a real person. He is working for someone. Katsu? No, he wouldn't be that sloppy. And this man isn't exactly praising Katsu. Man, who are these amateurs?

"I want you to tell me who you are working for."

"Oh, my apologies, I work for a private corporation some refer it to as..." He honestly had no idea what he just said. He was making it up as he went.

I seized my chance and grabbed his gun. He pushed back and got off the stool, he was trying to escape from the exit, I couldn't let that happened so I shot him on the leg, he fell to the ground hitting his head on the floor.

I didn't want to put my face near him just in case he was faking it, so I used the tip of my heel to press on his cheek, if he flinched I would know he was pretending it, if he didn't than I would know that he was actually unconscious.

He was unconscious, he showed no emotion to the pain I was pressing on him and his aurora wasn't showing.

I took that time to dig through his pockets and his briefcase to see if anything can lead to his boss. A clue, something. Since when did I play detective?

I finally found a yellow small envelope tucked inside the briefcase, yes I ripped the man's case.

It was a letter, and it was written in—a handwriting that I've seen somewhere. Ugh, my memory is so fuzzy sometimes.

Dear, Queen Elenor

I have lost sight of your daughter, again. I have no idea when you get this, but I hope soon. Currently I gave it in the possession of one of my fine agents.

So, I'm sure you will receive this. Your majesty , I hope you haven't forgotten my salary. Please sent it at it's original location.

As for your daughter, she is currently resting in the beautiful graces of our favorite Italian mafia, could you believe it how they basically decorate their home in dragon gold pieces and the whole place is basically red and gold, hilarious right? Italians!

But, she is safe. As for her regular activities, she hasn't been fulfilling them. Which is a good thing. I mean running around in New York being referred to as the devil, it's not really a nice thing. Isn't it?

That's all I've got for now, but the girl has turned 16 now, don't you think that some secrets should be revealed to her? I mean, after all our world's fate is on the hands of your—very—talented daughter.

See you soon.

Kazuki

"Someone knew about my true identity this whole time? I can't remember feeling this—well—feeling!I can't exactly describe it and that was scaring me. I always was prepared. And who is "Elenor, Queen Elenor?" And "Kazuki" who are these people? And daughter? No, this Kazuki guy probably knew his agent was not gonna make it, he is just messing with my head. Another world? Has this man gone nuts?"

I continuously started to pace around my cell. I wasn't used to being stunned, that stuff was my childhood. This, isn't normal, at all. I thought I was careful. No, I must've went wrong somewhere.

The blonde lady, which I later learned was Mary, the Don's wife; had her ocean eyes searching for me through the darkness of my cell as she unlocked her door, she noticed  the agent laying unconscious, the gun on the floor, red silk tied to his leg covering his bullet wound, a bullet covered by blood resting on the cold floor, a thicker bobbing pin covering in blood next to the bullet, a couple of files scattered around the floor, then after all that she was able to spot me on the side of the cell crossing my arms, she sized me from top to bottom noticing that the bottom of my silk robe was torn from the bottom and the scars on my hand.

"What in the mayhem happened?"

I didn't want to reveal to her that there was an imposter, because she would instantly kill him and not hesitate to kill all the guards on the floor. They all have families to go to, I couldn't allow their wives and children to be widowed or fatherless.

"I had a minor disagreement with rookie here."

"So you shot a bullet?"

"I have controlling issues? Besides, I stitched him up shortly after, he is going to be fine." I insured her.

"Katsu has chosen to forgive you, but Selina dear,

you can't attack him."

"I would rather rot in this cell then not kill him on sight. And I'm not looking for his forgiveness. He is the one who is supposed to be looking for my forgiveness."

"Sweety I thought the detective was trying to convince you—"

"And look at the detective's current state."

"Well, how about we take this gentle man to the infirmary and then you will have a conversation with Katsu."

I don't know if it was just me, but I'm pretty sure she just ordered me to do something, man are all mafias this dumb? "I don't take any orders from anyone but myself. And no one touches detective."

I didn't wait for her response, I carried the detective over my shoulder, dang what does this man eat, appearances could really be deceiving.

I hurried off up the stairs, to my given room and bolt the door as soon as I placed the man on my bed.

Damn it why did I shoot you?

I so desperately wanted to know about the letter.

3 hours later..

sleeping beauty has woken up...

•[• Clide •]•

Kazuki has warned me before my departure, that the girl, Selina may look like a gorgeous angel sent from the heavens but her personality was quite the opposite.

I was supposed to go in her cell, make it seem like I was actually interrogating her, to please the Don who was watching me from a distance.

"Katsu" that name alone drove the girl mad, I couldn't even imagine what she has been through. I saw the marks on her body, I couldn't help but realize that she was basically missing her right arm. I mean, she wore a fake arm, it wasn't real, she probably used an illusion spell to make it look real—she probably lost it in war.

I know Katsu wasn't a god, I knew what he did to little girls, he kidnapped my sister years ago.

I took the case because I wanted to ask Selina about my sister, also boss wanted me to understand what drove her.

But she was quick, more than I anticipated. She shot me because she thought I was going to run, truth is I was tempted too but I was really going to place a silencing charm. So who ever was watching the interrogation will see us talking about something else instead of what I really wanted to talk about.

I still had no idea what drove her, but I saw the pain written all over her eyes, she may act tough and all like she is inhuman, emotionless. But, she has been hurt and deceived, he eyes may sparkle under the light but it doesn't on plain sight. Her beauty is a curse itself.

I know she pulled out the bullet, and healed me shortly after, with god knows what, but I felt hot, as if there was a literal fire near me.

I felt her shaking me, slapping my face trying to get me up, she was hiding me. And she had no idea for how long.

I heard distant footsteps, becoming louder with ever step. I have to wake up, I have to take her with me.

I push myself suddenly, every thought in high definition. My eyes take in every ray of light and without a doubt I know I've been out too long. The noises were becoming heavier every second. I leap out of the bed and grab Selina's warm hand and pulled her into a portal that I quickly summoned.

We didn't exactly have the most comfortable landing, but we did survive.

I let out a sigh of relief, Selina was holding out a gun in one hand and a small—

"Where did you get that from?" She was holding a letter, it was too secret so I had no idea what was it, and I was trusted to deliver it. But to get to it, she would have to destroy my brief case— "Where is my briefcase?"

"I thought you already figured that out, detective." She smirked, she really liked to mess with my head.

"Right, Alright follow me," I said to her as I easily picked myself up, I've never recovered so quick, I thought. I turned to look at her, she wasn't focusing on me, but on the moon.

The moon brightened her every feature making her shine like an ancient goddess. Her beauty was mesmerizing, she was like a human-unicorn, rare creatures that only legends and folklore has written about.

She wasn't wearing her tall golden heels, she was just barefoot. Her white toes smudged softly on the green grass, the small lavender-white wildflowers bowed down at her from all around, the moon echoed on her body and long gorgeous hair; it was truly a beautiful sight. She is beautiful.

The night crows flew towards her, one resting on her shoulder while the rest sat on the grass, all chirping a harmonious lullaby. She bummed along with them, rain hitting hard on her, her silk dress became damp, so it tightened around her body, showing off her every curve.

I didn't understand how god created such a beautiful creature, and how after all these years I finally have been blessed with a true sight.

I think she caught me staring, because she had her playful face on again, and started to run towards me, was she trying to tease me?

Her long red hair was flying behind her, the droplets of the rain was slowly tracing her body, man even without makeup she was a sight for sore eyes.

"Enjoying the view?" She laughed. It was a true laugh, she looked happy, was it because of the rain?

I laughed back at her, revealing my two visible dimples, she instantly looked away, as if she was suddenly scared.

I wish I understood her.

I frowned, " Let's go home, alright?"

I didn't wait for her to respond because I knew she was going to ask me a lot of questions, I just pulled her in to another portal, this time it should lead to Kazuki.
