chapter 5

*Rainas POV*

Beep Beep Beep

"She's been through a lot, she shouldn't even be alive right now. She should be coma state right now, but nothing is indicating that she actually is."

'Where am I?' I thought to myself. 'Did I die?'

The lights in the room were really bright and I heard a bunch of people talking.

"Ughhh..." I groaned in pain when I tried to get up but everything hurt so I fell back down.

When I finally adapted to the lights and noises in my surroundings, I realized that there were unfamiliar people right outside the room talking and I couldn't recognize any of their scents.

There is no way I'm staying here. I started to get up from the bed, but after I swung my second leg to one side of the bed, I fell off the bed and a bunch of metal tools fell on the ground with me. So much for sneaking away.

When I looked up I saw that everyone's eyes were on me like they were in shock or something?

Then a guy with black, short hair, who was maybe like a foot taller than me ran to my side and helped me up.

"There is no way...." a guy in a white lab coat started to say. I'm guessing he's a doctor and I'm in a hospital. How did I survive?

"Hey, hey, are you okay? You're safe here, I promise," said the good looking dude who helped me back into the bed.

"I'm Chase, the beta of Stone moon pack and we are currently at the Stone Moon Pack hospital. You are safe here. No one's going to hurt you, I promise," he said with a reassuring smile. "What's your name?"

"My name? My name...is...Rai....Raina," I stuttered. "Why am I here?"

"Well, I was at your pack house and on my way home I found Jasper beating you, since then you've been here in the pack hospital." he explained.

"How long was I out?" I hesitantly asked.

He looked around the room to all the different people who I didn't realize even came in before he looked at me.

"You've been sleeping for about 2 months since the incident," he replied.

"Oh my goodness, oh my goodness," I kept repeating and I felt like my throat was closing in and I couldn't breath.

"Hey, hey, don't worry, your safe. I promise you that I won't let anyone hurt you. The doctor said that you would be able to come and stay with me at my house after you are discharged and you'll be safe there okay?" he said with a reassuring smile. "Alpha Richardson has already accepted you and I agreed to take care of you."

I looked over to another guy, who had the most powerful aura and smiled before I looked back at Chase.

"I can stay here? I don't have to go bad to my pack?" I exclaimed and tears were already welling up in my eyes.

Chase shook his head and I grabbed him into a tight bear hug. I never wanted to let go. Chase made me feel safe and I haven't felt safe a day in my life after my mothers death.

Chase laughed as I let go and for the first time in a while, I was genuinely smiling at someone.
