Chapter 2: Diary?

Tue. Apr. 17, 2040

I'm one of the top students academically, but prefers to keep a low profile that’s why I  purposely making my scores to the average as possible even though I could easily get perfect scores. I knew that the order of getting adopted is the result of our tests, but I want to prolong my time with everyone that's why I stayed in the middle. Speaking of, the real question was why our older siblings didn’t contact or visit us even once? That’s where I started having doubts about everything. To be honest, I'm not as good in strategies or tactics as Norman and Ray but I'm good at reading others emotions and body languages. I was certain that he plans to escape with them. Based on how close he is with Emma and Norman. More importantly, I can finally have someone who understands our situation. Hence, he could be a possible hostile to the escape plan. Knowing Norman, the smartest in all of us  he'll guarantee that the plan will succeed.

However, all good things must come to an end. In every 2 months, a child is adopted and said to live with their new family but never to be heard from again.

"Hey! Nyke, don't you think it's strange?".

"Huh? What's strange?".

"Well, it's been five times already".

"What five times?".

"The dates! It's every 23 days after another. Don't you think it's odd to write a diary every 23 days? Normally, if someone is writing a diary they tend to do it every day or every week and sometimes it's not consistent but in this book its persistence."

"Yeah! Your right Dywen. It started January 16 year 2040 then the next is after 23 days, which is February 8 year 2040. I wonder what's the deal?".

It's been 117 days since Ray traded with Mama. I've been thinking about this for a while and I decided that I'll make a deal with Mama too. So today I'm going to confess everything I know so that she'll trust me. Don't get the wrong idea, imagine like I have a negotiation with a client or something. I'm no idiot who fights with their bare hands and lost in the end. I'll help Ray and the others with the escape plan…

*toc toc*..."Mama! It's me Kyne".

"Yes, you may come in. I was expecting you. So? You also want to spy for me too?".

*silence*... "Mama, you're right, but I'm not cheap you know? I was wondering you could use me to make sure that Ray won't betray you and such I could stop their plans in the shadow".

*"You think you can manipulate me huh? Well, I'll play along then for now."* *smiles*

"Ok then Kyne we'll make a deal so? What's the catch?".
