Prologue

It was early in the morning. The cool breeze blew past me. I never thought he would leave me. The doorbell rang and I ran for it. I jumped over the fallen books and made my way towards the door. I was still in my shorts from the last night. The doorbell rang second time. I reached at the door and hastily opened it. There he was. Standing at the porch with a bag in his hand. Tears welled up in my eyes and i hugged him tightly. His arms surrounded me and I embraced his warmth.

"Nate..." I sobbed. Nate, my childhood till today best friend. Was leaving our town. "Hey munchkin. missed me?" he asked gently. I nodded still crying.

He held me close to his chest until my tears have dried up. He lifted my chin and said "Seems someone really missed me." I smiled wryly. I whacked him on the chest and teased "Yeah i know when your so called girlfriends didn't missed you."

"Well I am not so special for anyone but you." he said smilingly and ruffled my hair. "Yeah I know. But you should gear up Nate. There will be lots of hotties in the college." I said and winked.

"Well I am most confident that I can get a girlfriend. You know with my handsome face." he said with his oh-so charming look. "But what about you my munchkin? I doubt that you will get a boyfriend even after you are 40 years of age. Oh my little munchkin... she will die alone with only me and my family on her side." he said with his crocodile tears. He really irritates me. But I can't deny that he is telling half truth. With his black glossy hair, fair skin and black eyes he would be soon be chased by girls. But me with my

un - extraordinary look; deep brown hair, beige skin and silver eyes no boy would be interested in me. Moreover I am kinda a introvert and not so good in making conversation. So that plus this you could totally tell I never had a successful date. All the dates i have ever been on was total disaster. Never mind.

"Don't worry nutty I will not at least die alone. I will have a wonderful boyfriend. You just wait and see."I said and crossed my arms over my chest looking all determined. Nate chuckled and said "Yep waited for 20 years and still waiting."

"Huh" I turned away. Nate's arms once again surrounded me and said "Oh Farrah no need to worry when I am here I will find the right guy for you. No matter what."

I turned around and hugged him once more before I gently leave him "So this really is good bye. Huh?" I asked staring at his face. He looked at me, care and love in his dark eyes "Seems so."
