MEI'S POINT OF VIEW

I turned around and met Emerald who was protected by a black umbrella bearing his name. He held the umbrella in his left hand and my purse in his right. I was so happy to know that my purse wasn't lost forever but I was puzzled by the reason of his presence. He handed me my bag before I could go in any further inquiry, "You left this before leaving, we tried to call you back but you didn't hear us so one of us had to volunteer to return it to you."

"Thanks alot Emerald without you I would have been in deep trouble."

He was about to respond when a car passed by and splashed water at us, Emerald immediately let go of his umbrella and used his body to shield me, taking the impact on himself.

The car was long gone but he didn't move, keeping his strong arms against my petite frame. I felt ackward and gently pushed him away from me as red creeped up my jaws. His shirt was completely wet and sticking on his shreded torso.

I felt embarrased both my the view before me and the whole situation and bowed," I am so sorry, let me take you in so you can dry yourself."

He refused my offer at first but finally gave in after my multiple demands. On our way to my floor, we met Mrs. Seung or rather Seung-Eomma as she is called by her usual customers including me. Apparently, she had watched the whole scene and insisted on giving Emerald others clothes as a reward for his gentlemanliness. We stayed with her for a little while but rushed to my home once Emerald started sneezing.

Once at my place, I showed him around and he went to take a bath. I did same after him and went to the kitchen to prepare hot tea for both of us. We talked about his family, he was the second of a family of two, he didn't talk much about his brother but his parents were a successful couple of designers which explains his looks.

"What about you? Your family? What's your history Mei noona?"

I was sipping my tea and almost choked at his question.

"Humm, well.. I am the onlt child to my parents and actually I am Japanese. You could have told my the name." I chuckled, "I have always dreamed to be in the entertainment industry so here I am today."

"Ackwardly enough, you seem familiar to me."

"Do I?", I laughed nervously, the more he talked the more he looked like someone I once knew and won't be glad to meet again.

"Yup, you like the girl my brother once dated. Same blond hair, same pale face, same name. You are the girl my brother dated huh?"

All of a sudden *hi*s memory stepped into my mind reminding me of all our sweet moments and equally the difficult ones. I was so shocked that I didn't bother to open the door that kept banging. Emerald did it for me and I wish he didn't.

"Four years and you haven't changed, huh Mei?"

His cold voice resonated in my ears and mind. Kain was back.
