The night dragged on. I opened my presents; we all had some cake, but I felt restless and edgy. It had started this afternoon after seeing that animal. My body is riddled with pain. I feel pint up and hot. It's nearly 9, and it's relatively cool outside at this time. I must have caught something. mom I'm going to step outside for some fresh air. ok honey don't be to long. I'm just about to beat ur dad at Go Fish. Wouldn't want to miss that. I sated with a smile. I headed for the back door, to sit on the porch. I can still see my breath. even though spring just started. Then I heard it and my heart pounded. A howl so loud it shook the house pierced the night air. my breath caught in my lungs. I can see the creature about 10 yards off. it's not possible. It was huge, it's fur as white as the moon and it's eyes glowed blue, silver. It watched me as if waiting for a response. The moon light gave it's fur an eerie glow. Moon light... my eyes follow involuntarily towards the giant full moon. My ears began to ring. My body began to shake. I grip my head to try to make it stop. my flesh began to crawl as if there were spiders shimmying down my spine. I could only think I could only feel one word. With all my being I ran. I ran to be free. my body stretched every leap. I changed my form was now a wolf, and I was completely aware. I was no mindless beast, as says the fairytales. my fur was various shades of white, black, and brown. I run to the white wolf and howled my response, but before I reach him he bowed his head and vanished. Right before my eyes. The wolf turned into blue spots of falling light. What was that? my body didn't want to stop moving. so I didn't I ran. enjoying all the freedom and the feeling of being a wolf. I was stong, fast, and I couldn't feel the cold. This feeling is like nothing else I've ever felt. The wind rushing through my fur. I can smell everything, and I can see everything. I can hear everything. And so much more. I could feel a connection to this place. I wasn't sure were I was going but my gut told me I knew. I just hadn't figured it out yet. I dashed out into an open meadow. I smell the air. Another had been here recently but by the smell they were long gone by now. This is when the thought struck me. I'd never wondered about my parents till now. Did they know? Is that why they abandoned me? Were they like me? Did they actually abandon me? Was it a mistake to believe they did my whole life. Was it a mistake to hate them for what they did? That they might not have even done.
