Episode 2

Jane's POV

Our neighborhood is a delightful one, it is in sync with our current lifestyle. We can walk freely without worrying about our safety and is above all friendly.

Our house was fairly sized, made of white and grey granite, the fence was a long and strong black and white like-diamond-shape.

As soon as we arrived, I walked into the living room and jumped on the couch, throwing my bag on the floor." I'm officially tired " I screamed.

" It's only 5 pm and you're already this tired? "

" Jaden mind your own business "

" Mom, Dad we're home " I squealed so loud, I think my neighbors across the street heard me.

" You know they're not here, right ?" Jaden said while walking upstairs.

I obviously knew they were not home, they're never home. I stayed on the couch enjoying the silence and the relaxation that come with it.

Jaden came down with some black sweatpants and a blue t-shirt, typing something on his phone." I'm going over to Nate's sis, you wanna come"

I looked at him for a second pretending to think about it." Nah I'm good " I told him " plus I don't wanna be in the middle of some Barcelona folks being the only Real Madrid backer in there " I teased earning a smirk from my twin.

" You good though? " He mumbled with a hint of concern.

" Yes, yes, stop being all cheesy and go, I'm fine " I instructed.

" Don't forget to switch on your GPS " I added. It's something we do when we're not together,

" Got it, you do the same shorty" He reminded me.

" I'm just at home why would I? Will the house suddenly gain legs and move to Italy J? " I spout dramatically.

"Just do it okay, see you later. If you need anything call me " He placed a kiss on my forehead and went towards the door. " Love you shorty " I rolled my eyes playfully as I knew he wouldn't go if I don't replay.

" Love you too big guy " I finally let out and he walked out the door laughing.

Between the two of us, Jaden has always been more sociable and outgoing. Sure I'd a few friends, but he was more of the popular type of person and I was just an awkward shy person that hated being the center of attention. Therefore, I avoided all situations that would lead to it.

So, apart from my twin, I've three best friends, Ailee, Annabelle, and Luke. We've known each other since primary. I met Ailee first, we're very close, I can say that I'm closer to her than the others. Luke joined then Annabelle. Annabelle was a year younger than us and one grade below ours. The three of us have always been in the same class since 6th grade while Annabelle was always in a different class.

Back in primary people used to call us aliens, because we were mixed-raced, Ailee is Asian-American, Luke is South African, Annabelle is Namibian and well, me and Jaden some call us Afro-American because our parents honored us with an uncommon combination but I prefer Angolan-American, I know it sounds different, weird.

So, primary was just the five of us, we spent most of our time together. There were also times were Annabelle would go on about marrying my twin, Jaden hated it so much that he even cried once because she wouldn't leave him alone.

Although Jaden made new friends as time passed and started hanging more with them, he would somehow manage to spend a memorable time with us as well.

I decided to stand up, got my bag, and stormed upstairs to my room where I'm welcomed by the wooden smell of my furniture. My room is all white, I chose this color because it makes me relax. I walked towards the small desk that has a laptop, books, a black speaker, and a few yellow boxes and placed my bag on it.

Walking past it I closed the door of my bathroom and move on to my favorite spot. It's a bay window, having a small mattress and few pillows of different shades. From there I could see the neighbor's back yard and behind it a woodland of different trees and a mountain that if I closed one eye I could cover the mountain top with my thumb.

Jaden is always here, I still don't know whether it's because he craved my company or because he doesn't have one in his room. We would sit back to back, either talking about everything or nothing in particular, or each one of us would be doing our own staff and just fall asleep in the process, and somehow it was not uncomfortable at all.

I grabbed a pillow and tried to make it comfortable behind me wishing Jaden was here. I then decide to take my phone and go to my contacts and called the number saved wifey and she immediately picked up.

" Hey wifey, how are you " She greeted.

" Hey my Asian cookie, I'm good, you?"

" Same old same old Dad is just being himself over here and it has been over an hour that he is arguing with mom over where should we go for holidays " I heard a door opening in the background.

"What are the options ?" I just realized we didn't plan anything for this holiday yet.

"It's either South Korea or Spain, I would prefer Spain but is not like my opinion has a room in this non-democratic house "

" Life is not fair. Look at me, I even had to share a placenta with Jaden "

She laughed for a while then she suddenly screamed in Korean " Get out of my room Jimin "

Luckily we made an agreement, she takes Portuguese as a subject and I Korean. We've them for two years now and she also taught me some staff and vise-verse. It helped us understand more about each other, plus is handful because whenever she gets really angry she speaks Korean. I don't think she does it consciously though.

I heard a sound, I think her nine-year-old brother Jimin is jumping on her bed.

" Leave him alone " I replied in Korean while trying not to laugh harder.

" Whatever Jane " She sighs and then seemed to remember something " Are you ready for tomorrow, I mean is our last day as high school learners"

" Is no big deal, plus J and I already have everything planned for college, and you know it "

" Unfortunately I do, you made me memorize the whole thing. You'll do medicine to become a cute doctor and our hot Jaden will go for electronic engineering "

I smiled, she knows me so well.

" And you still not sure whether you want to go for law or journalism right ?" I shook my head thinking about it.

" Well, for your information I only have one brain and it's normal for an almost-to-be-adult like myself to be confused, unlike you that have yours and J's hot-sexy brain to figure things out "

" Eww, so you think my twin is hot and sexy? "

" You're the only one who doesn't know that. The whole school thinks so, you just in your little bubble wifey "

I do know that he catches a lot of attention, not only because he was a tall guy with an athletic body but because Annabelle never stops mumbling about how he has a spotless face, dark curly fuzzy hair, and green eyes that made him look innocent and sexy according to her.

She would always whimper about his red bottom full lips and his killer dimples that showed up when he angelically smiled. Talk about exaggeration right? He doesn't make it better as he can sometimes be Mr. sympathy.

" Tomorrow is the 21st of November right? " She said way too excited.

I scanned my phone and told her yes.

" We have seventeen days till your birthday wifey "

" Are you really counting it?" I asked taking a deep breath.

" Obviously, I was planning on _ " She was cut by her mother calling her. "I've to go now, see you tomorrow wifey "

" Bye "

I head downstairs, straight to the kitchen, took some ships, ice cream bowl, and Oreo cookies, and head back to my room. I placed them by the window seat and go change from my uniform to a silk red shorts and a long sleeve black crop top.

I connected the phone with the speaker and went through my playlist for what seems like 10 minutes till I decided to play Naked by James Arthur and I started singing along as I swung back to the seat next to my snacks and started devouring it.

I didn't realize Jaden was back till he walked towards me and I felt my soul jumping through the window.

" Shit, Jaden you scared the hell out of me " I placed my hands on my chest trying to calm down.

" Sorry " His reply sounded more like a soft whisper.

I looked up, and he looked dejected.

" Hey, twin what's up ?" Knowing him he'll probably be here the whole day so he might as well just start talking now.

" Mia is at it again " He explained laying on the bed staring at the ceiling.

Mia was "THE" girlfriend, a tall girl with brown straight-hair, curvy body and big dark brownish eyes that can be mistaken for black.

They've been together for a year and few months. Lately, they just argued over Jaden going to NUST that happened to be the university we planned to go, while she will be going to UNAM a different University. She says that they should go to the same college and she expects him to follow her "of course".

She even went on saying that maybe I was the one forcing him to go to NUST so that I wouldn't be a loner. From there one can guess the type of awkward relationship I've with her

I was pulled out of my thoughts when he finally whispered " Why can't she just understand that I want her in my life even though we may not attend the same college is not like automatically means we're done "

" Come here " I called him while moving the snacks on the side and shifted to the end of the seat making space for him to lay down.

I lowered the music's volume while he made his way to me, then laid down resting his head on my lap. I gently stroke his hair soothing him as he closed his eyes.

I don't hate Mia at all, I just hate the way she makes him feel every time they argue. I wish I could do something but it was not my place to interfere in their relationship.

" She is just afraid to lose you big guy " I finally let out something that might sound convincing." Maybe the idea of being a little far from you gives her some sort of insecurity "

He opened his green eyes shaded with surprised. " All women have one of those, I guess! Remember in sixth grade when we were placed in a separate classroom?"

" You cried the whole day, saying that I would spend more time with the other kids and I wouldn't want to be your twin anymore " He mocked smiling.

I poked his shoulders " I was a kid okay. My point is, maybe this whole situation is freaking her out. Arguing may not be the best way to approach it, but I think she is just trying to show you that she cares enough to worry about being far from you. "

He looked at me with amusement." When did you grow up so much? "

"While you were busy being a jerk I was busy maturing " I teased and we both laughed

Jaden took my phone drawing the pattern. It's just a J anyways, he thinks is J for Jaden and I'm tired of informing him that is for Jane, well I said we had no secrets right?

He chose our favorite song Youngblood by 5 seconds of summer.

He gave the phone back and reached for the ice cream. We moved from our previous position to sitting back to back.

After taking four to five spoons he passed the bowl to me and when I was about to take my third spoon he turned.

" My turn give it back, your time is up" he said taking the bowl back.

" Not fair" I cried" why do you get to eat more than I " I frowned and he laughed at me.

" One I was born first, second you're too slow Jane " he continued " and if " Before he could finish, the short tanned peaches-and-creamy glowing skin woman made us aware of her presence.

She has brown eyes, slightly tick curvy body, her oval face makes her look young, thick full dark hair just like mine that is trapped in a messy bun.

" Mom could you please teach your son how to be a gentleman for once " I pleaded.

" Aren't you two too old for this? She asked coming toward us kissing each one of us in the forehead and added " plus you still sit back to back like you did since you started sitting " she said pointing her fingers at us.

Mom once said that she went to a doctor because of our habit of sitting back to back everywhere, but he said that there is nothing wrong, from there she assume that maybe this is how we were when we were in her womb. Unbelievable.

" How was work mom ?" Jaden asked.

" Stressing, a lot of people have consultations booked for this month, maybe because it's the end of the year and they want a check-up before traveling, whatever the reason is" she said sounding a bit tired.

Mom is a Doctor and owns a private clinic that focuses on three fields, dermatology, gynecology, and cardiology. So most of her time she is either at her clinic or at some hospital performing some surgery, which is why we spend a lot of time at Granny's.

" Dinner will be ready in five " she explained making her way out. " Wash your hands and come down to eat Okay? "

"Coming" I screamed.

Jaden just delivered a small " hum " But didn't move.

When she was about to go out she turned once again " Jaden why don't you move your bed to your sister's room? You don't seem to get used to sleeping in your own room " she mocked him making me laugh, and he gave me one of his I'm gonna get my revenge type of look and I instantly closed my mouth.

" Maybe I should make your room my new study room" she said walking out.

" You guys are kidding me" He said looking back at me while I tried to stop myself from laughing.

" Don't you dare say a word? " he warned me playfully. I threw my hands in the air surrendering.

"I just wanted to tell you that we should probably head down to eat "
