Episode 4

"Get inside the room," I muttered dangerously to her. Her legs become wobbly, her back stiffened, and as much as I've hated to do this to her, I don't have a choice.

"Mandemus, are you fucking crazy?" She still has the guts to curse me. I answered her with gritted teeth. "Yes, I am fucking crazy."

"You can't do this to me."

"I can."

"Yes, but not to your childhood friend."

"You aren't my childhood friend anymore."

"What do you mean?"

"You are now my woman."

She gasped.

I didn't move, still aiming the gun at her back. She heaved a deep sigh and slowly turned in front of me. "Are you that desperate to have me?"

"Why can't I?"

"I don't know you anymore. You are not like this in childhood."

"Like this?"

"How did you become a territory, huh?" She started clicking her heels on the floor towards me. "I'm not your toy. You know that since before. You just find me challenging. One day, you'll dump me if you find me boring... like those toys you had before."

"Why do you keep mentioning the past? It's nothing to me."

"If it's nothing, why don't you let me go?"

"It was all nothing, but that doesn't include you."

"Are you that fucking crazy in love with me?"

"Love?" I smirked and look down on her gorgeous face. She is a bold woman. "I didn't say I love you. You're way too fast, sweetie," I whispered and cupped her chin. Then, I put the butt of the gun below her chin. In a dangerous voice, I said, "I just want to protect you from danger. You should be thankful."

She didn't break our contacts. I badly want to wash that smirk on her face. "And you said you don't love me."

"There's a big difference between love and being caring to a friend."

She looks shocked at my last remarks. Then she sighed again. "You are still such a weird kid. Fine, where's my room? Please take note of the word my not ours cause I swear I will never share a room with you."

Fuck this feeling when your stomach tightens. What is this? I've only experienced this whenever she talks stupidly. This madwoman...

"I didn't say you'll share a room with me. You have a wild imagination, huh," I whispered and put back the gun under my shirt.

"Justin," I nodded to him and Mexica. He went to her and gestured the way towards her room. Mexica struck me first rolling eyes before walking towards her room.

Alas, she finally gives up. Why do I need to put up with a stubborn and a madwoman in my life? This is exciting and let's see how it ends.

Surprisingly, on Monday morning, I went up early. There's nothing much to do in paperwork today but I still get up early. I grab a pair of Sando and boxers after rubbing my hands to warm my eyes. Say, I'm fully naked at night. It's better than having your clothes on and... you know what I mean.

Anyway, this day must be beautiful because I. Get. Up. Too. Early. Whoever ruined it, I will kill that person. A knock was heard in my room. After dressing, I opened the door and Justin first appeared in my sight. "What's so early?" I asked.

"It's Mexica." He answered.

"How about that madwoman? Did she get some good sleep?"

"My apology, Sir." He bowed his head and announced. "She ran away."

My brows furrowed and I pushed him away from my sight. I run as fast as I can towards Mexica's door that was only beside my room. It was a lock when I tried to open it. In a calm voice, I asked Justin. "When did she disappeared?"

"It was approximately 4:00 in the dawn."

"Where's the bodyguard? Why haven't you noticed her?" I said in a dangerous voice.

"My apology, Sir. The man who was guarding the night shift passed out when the caffeine took him."

"Damn it," I cursed silently.

Hand on the hips, I pointed my finger at him. "You better find her or else you will be doomed."

"I got it, Sir." He bowed his head once again and left but I stop him. "Who's the bodyguard in duty?"

"Sir?" he asked in confusion.

"Bring him to my room along with you in my room. Asap!"

"Copy that, Sir." He said and left my sight. What the fuck, Mexica. I thought we had an agreement. She still doesn't change. Old habits don't die, huh. I need to discipline that stubborn woman once they captured her. Damn it.

Three hours passed by, I still didn't have the news about Mexica and her whereabouts. The mansion was a mess because some maids and other workers were also searching for her in the mansion. She couldn't get away that easily. I have a lot of workers inside yet no one noticed her running away? That's impossible. But that could also mean someone might help her inside. An insider. Who will that be?

I put the cup of coffee on the table when someone knocks on the door. Justin stood in front of me and bowed his head. "We found out she was on the rooftop the whole night."

I jerked up my head when he said that. "This woman..." I whispered. How could she do that? Is she crazy?

"Where is she now?" I asked, hands resting on the chin.

"In the rooftop."

"Pardon?"

"In the rooftop, Sir."

My brows furrowed more. "Are you telling me she is still on the rooftop? Why is that?"

"She was planning suicide, Sir."

My eyes bulge out because of what he said. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?!" I shouted and get my coat on the swivel chair. Running to fucking discipline that woman, I couldn't help to feel guilty.

I don't know why.

We end the problem yesterday. She agreed and went to her room. Why did she want to kill herself now? Am I that naìve to her feelings? Damn it.

Panting, I stop and look up where she is. I saw Mexica standing on the top of the roof in our mansion. Did she climb up all by herself? How'd she done that with that tiny body of hers?

She was wearing a white and tiny long gown. The air is cold and the humid is not that good. She'll catch a cold if she will not go down right now.

"Mexica, don't move," I shouted and gestured my hands to stop her from whatever plans she had in her little mind.

She looks at me. "Why are you here?" she asked.

"Of course, this is my house. I should be here."

"Don't try to get into my skin or I'll jump right away."

"Why do you always give me a headache? I said don't move!"

"You can't dictate me what I should do and shouldn't!"

"Mexica! Just stop moving, okay? I got you." I shouted back and spotted the ladder that Justin got. He's way too damn slow to get that ladder.

Justin commanded his men to position themselves around the place wherever Mexica will run again. He also contacted the fire service station for back-ups.

She needs to be safe in whatever means.

I started climbing up the ladder towards her. She locks her eyes on me while I look up at her, not breaking our contacts, afraid that when I look away, she will be out of my sight again. Not again.

"What are you fussing up, Mandemus? You should've sent your men to get me here." She said, surprisingly, in a cold voice.

What does she mean?

"I'm just stuck on the rooftop. I want some fresh air last night but end up stuck in here."

So that's it.

"Even so, I should be the one who will be your knight," I said in a shuttered voice while climbing. Nobody knows except her that I'm afraid of heights. But here I am, climbing the ladder on a 15ft rooftop just to get a madwoman who was stuck in my rooftop. Damn it.

"Knight is a term for fairytales." She answered back. She was now sitting on the roof, hands on her knees while looking at me who was now having a hard time climbing up this fucking ladder.

Heights is killing me.

"Don't... you want... fairytales?" I asked back.

"That's in childhood. Not now. We matured enough."

"Yeah, matured enough but here you are, still stuck in a rooftop. Why did you come here in the first place if you don't know how to get out, huh?"

"I don't know. Can you please be fast? I'm about to die in cold here."

Wow. She dares to command me. No one dared to do that in my life, except for my deceased mother. "In a minute, I'll be there," I said, still climbing up on the ladder.

No. No. Don't turn around, Mandemus. Don't turn around or else you'll die in shock. My palpitations began and I think my heart is about to explode. The higher I got, my heart rate becomes unstable. If the blood in the veins will come out, I can already feel it gushing out. But I remained stoic and hard in expression.

"Aren't you here yet? Faster please." Mexica said in your 're-so-slow-as-fuck voice. It's getting under my skin but I don't have the time to think about that. I was busy thinking about how to control my body the way it reacts to the height.

I thought this is an emergency so I got carried away and forgot to take a medicine, knowing where she was, and predicting the scene what I should do to get her there.

It would be embarrassing to ask for her help if I was the one who volunteered to help her out. Fuck.

But my palpitations are getting stronger as I step each steel of the ladder. Just... when will I arrive on that fucking rooftop?

And when will the fire fucking truck arrive? It's been minutes.
