Episode 15

Arkyn's POV

A blinding light clouded my vision, along with the deafening sound of static that filled my ears.

Wincing, I shut my eyes and covered my ears. But, my attempts to stop my suffering were proven to be fruitless.

Brightness still clouded my eyes even though I've already closed them as tight as I could. While that deafening still reverberated loudly inside my ears.

It was as if someone threw a concussion grenade in my way.

Then suddenly, it all stopped. Thankfully. But as soon as it did, I was met with the smell of cigarettes.

I scrunched my nose in disgust as I slowly opened my eyes. And the first thing I saw was a big-chested woman, smoking with an unusual device with her eyes closed while sitting on top of two lifeless bodies piled up.

She slowly opened her eyes and examined me carefully. "My, My. Ain't you a pretty one." She complimented me then shot me a grin.

My blue orbs clashed with her deep purple ones. A pretty unusual color, I must say.

"My name is Lilith. It's nice to finally meet you, Arkyn!" She happily says and then tilts her head while smiling.

My jaw immediately drops.

"We don't have enough time, someone will be sent intercept us soon," Lilith said, abruptly standing up and grabbing a nearby lantern that dimly lit up the place.

I didn't even know we were in a place.

"Ask questions that you need to be answered now, We don't have enough time." She hastily says while walking towards a dark hallway, and I followed her.

"How did I end up here? One moment I was talking with Rivaleon then the next I-" I suddenly stop, remembering what I had done.

I cover my shaking lips with my mouth. What the hell did I do?

Paralyzed in shock and regret, I looked at Lilith. She gave me a stoic look but her eyes held sympathy.

Sighing, she fully faced me. "We never wanted it to be done this way, but the Gods above left us with no choice."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"This Island is rigged with spells, with the help of Phantasm, we were able to...bring out the darkness trapped inside you."

I eye her cautiously. "Bring what exactly?" I ask.

She turned to look at me before heaving a deep sigh.

"I won't go into much detail."

I only nod. Glad to even have information, to begin with.

"This, was all planned. A quarter of it actually." She mumbles the last part. "Basically, the purpose of this gathering was to get the Vylerriths and you into this island." She stops as she comes face to face with a giant door, locked with platinum chains.

She raised her hand. "Rylai, Come forth!" She commanded as something came out of nowhere and started materializing in her hand.

When it was done twitching and untangling itself, it revealed itself as a beautiful scythe.

"As I was saying." She resumed, as she started expertly swinging and trying to slice through the chains.

"The reason this gathering was held here is because you were finally found."

"I'm a...comrade of your father, we never actually see eye to eye but when it comes down to it." She finally cuts down the last chain. "I'd still help him."

"My father's been long gone."

"That was just a decoy, a lowly human." She answers then began striking the door with her scythe.

"You speak as if I'm not a human."

She only shot me a frown then began striking the door again.

"But if this was planned then why bring and involve Alice Beaufourlt here?" I ask angrily.

"Without him, you wouldn't be here conversing with me nor met Rivaleon." She plainly answers. "Alice was the key to it all, he was supposed to benefit the heavens yet he ended up benefiting...us."

"Don't include me with you all, I'm not a monster." I sneer.

"Says the one who shot a family of three with no hesitation whatsoever." She shot back. Pun intended.

My mouth immediately closed and I felt bile rise from my throat, recalling the horrifying scene, one which I had done.

My first love, laying there, blood pouring out of his mouth as his lifeless orbs stared back at me. How could I do something as trivial as that?

Lilith's eyes softened. "Hey, Hey. It's not your fault. Sorry, I went too far."

She pursed her lips before continuing. "Alice's child was supposed to be the one that could kill demons. You were doing us a favor by ending them before things took a turn for the worse."

"You could've done it, or had someone else do it. But, why me?" I croaked out.

"I, can't answer that. Not yet at least." She turned away as she yanked her scythe out of the door, sending splinters everywhere.

I let out a quiet sob, feeling all humanity leave my soul and my sanity diminish. Was I even a human after all I've done in the span of the last minutes?

"Say, we have a powerful clairvoyant in hell. If you came there, you can talk to her and have her answer all your questions." She says. "For now, all I can do is go on with the plan and ensure that you inherit it."

I raise my eyebrow at her.

She gives me one of those demonic grins again. "The last thing your true father left you."

She opened both the big double doors and at first I couldn't see anything because of the darkness.

We were in some kind of a basement, how have I not noticed?

She threw the lamp on the ground, and the fire quickly spread; allowing me to finally see what she was referring to.

My whole body freezing and my mind blanking out just from the sight of it.
