It would have been like any other night. It would have been as dark, as quiet and as freezing if not for the ominous noises which silenced the crickets and stilled the winds which coursed through the trees.

Whoosh. . . shh. . . hush. . . hiss. . .

The spine-chilling whispers sounded threatening, as if they warned the other creatures from disrupting their gothic melody. Soon the noises clarified, the shadows which were seen darting back and forth from one tree to the other took form of a beast, a ferocious dark beast which saw nothing but red; Had no conscience apart from bloodlust; Having no agenda apart from tearing apart anything that came before them.

Spiteful growls and eyes glowing red with vengeance consumed them as the several beasts traversed through the Injang forest in a lightening pace and headed towards the sub-urban town, Suwon.

While these terrifying beasts charged towards civil localities, few miles away, in a remotely located bungalow, the noises of the charging beasts left a woman in a trace. She abandoned everything she was doing and in no time swished to the attic snd threw open the terrace door and stood at the roof. Her eyes widened as he sight pierced through the thicket of trees and spotted the beasts running wild.

"This is impossible, there was no sign of them for decades, why now?" She said exasperated and feeling a presence behind her she turned around immediately to face the male who stood with the same restless expression as hers.

"You heard it as well?" she wanted to make sure. The boy nodded, his hand drawing a silver knife from behind his waist and bringing it in front, seeing his reflection on it.

"This is so sudden.. Are you ready? This is not like your training, and I'm afraid you'll get hurt— what if you—" She paused and eyed the man who looked fearless.

Jungkook's pov

I hurried through my room, grabbing my watch, wallet, and finally my mobile- a few things that are my extreme necessities. After that, i shoved a few of my notebooks into my shabby bag and the half done assignment that came in my view.. I had no idea when was the deadline..

I gave my room a last glance to know if I was still forgetting something. Then the dashed down the stairs, almost falling off. I mumbled a small "I'm leaving" to eomma before grabbing one of the Nutella smeared toasts and ran out of home..

Mom mumbled from behind and I waved at her mumbling with my mouth stuffed with toast..

The thing was, as you have already noticed, I am running late for college.. And all thanks to that pabo Mingyu, my bestfriend, who kept me occupied last night with a stupid match of overarching. I really want to smash his head so much, but that's for later..

And that brings me to who I am: I am Jeon Jungkook. A second year SNU student in the Arts major.. Eomma is my only parent and I am a single child, and that's all the basic information you need to know about me, till now..

I guess the Gods were in favor of him, afterall I couldn't lash out at him after arriving at college 'barely' in time.. Which means, the lecture session was due to the lunch break!

During lunch break at the college cafeteria

The butthead spoke up before I could actually yell at him. And he was probably talking sense right now.. It has really been a while since we hung out. I pushed away my anger and nosed into their conversation after ordering our usual..

Yeah, it's been long. Besides, I don't have my part time job in the evening today. So I can join..

I felt heat rise up my cheeks in the mention of IU. She is one of my crushes.. Overall, she is just perfect and I could bet that half of the boys were ready to wag their tongues just to become her boyfriend.. and I was one of those lovesick fools too..

Yaaa! Why are you so hyped up to hook us up?! She doesn't know that I like her yet!

Another nuclear bomb fell on me. How, when all this happened I had no idea.. and Yuggie saying it like that as if it was a matter of fact, madeit even more shocking for me..

(cough cough) You guys are playing a prank on me or what?

When did all this happen? You guys kept me in the darkness for so long! hmph!

I crossed my hands acros say chest; Trying to act visibly hurt and guess what, these too are weak for my charms, but only sometimes..

Calm down bunny! Now you know, it all happened last week. Thanks to your unhelpful stomachache that you didn't come to know..

We burst into laughter and chatted for awhile more.. Luckily, we didn't have afternoon lectures, so we parted ways and I was waking towards home, humming a catchy melody while subconsciously thinking of pickup lines to impress IU..

I made my way to the doorstep and stood shunned at the sight. The door seemed as if it was thrown open from the outside and there were ugly claw marks on the frame.. It looked scary.. I feared, that we were robbed in broad daylight. I weakly opened the door, enough for me to get inside, and quietly walked in..

There was a terrifying sight in front of me.. Blood stains splattered all over the wooden floor, the scratches persisting on the walls.. I was worried for eomma, she should be okay, right? I asked myself trying to be as optimistic as possible..

I tip toed through the corridor, avoiding to step on the ugly looking blood stains. I wanted to puke at the sight, the smell was disgusting.. I called upon eomma, my voice coming out as a whisper..

E-Eomma.. ?

eomma, eodiya? (where are you)

Are.. you alright?

I continued to call her out, but there was no response. I reached to the living room door and peeked in and heard faint huffing noises.. My eyes widened and I refrained myself from screaming..

A pack of huge black wolves were surrounding mom from all sides.. I could only make out her bloody hand between the black furs.. The wolves growled while they dug their sharp teeth into Mom's body.. I couldn't look anymore, the sight made my gut wrench.. I slowly stepped back..

But my feet touched something slippery and I yelped.. and that was the biggest mistake I did.. All the wolves turned their head towards me, their eyebrows furrowed and they were gritting their teeth looking at me furiously.. I knew, I was a lost cause..

I kept stepping back while they approached me slowly. I intended to make a run for it, and right at that moment, one of them dashed through the living room and plunged at me, I ran without caring about anything..

Jungkook ran through the empty streets, taking turns while the wolf pack chased after him, grunting and growling. He was panting like a mad dog, he was getting breathless, but he couldn't afford to stop running or he knew, he would die..

Why was his house alone attacked by these ferocious wolves? Added to that, their house wasn't even near the forests, so where did these come from.. why did the wild animals come into the city all of a sudden?

While he ran, he accidentally sprained his ankle and he thrashed on the road, unable to move.. He was going to die like that, Jungkook wondered and saw one of the wolves plunging at him. He squeezed his eyes shut, covering his head with his hands in fear..

But nothing happened..

Jungkook slowly peeked through his hands and looked around. He saw five to six of the wolves lying on the road, lifeless and turning to smoke..

How did all this happen?

He then saw a man, only his back who squatted in front of one of the wolves and pulled out a bloodied knife from the beast.. He stared at him, dazed at the entire occurrence.

The man stood up, pushing the knife into a small holder. He looked behind at the boy who was laying on the ground, staring at him with wide doe eyes.. The man looked at him all over..

???

"I found you ultimately.."

The man murmured under his breath, looking over at the petite boy laying in the ground, staring at him.

???

Get up..

The man spoke, his voice deep and cold. He approached the boy and forwarded his hand to help him get up.. But Jungkook was too lost admiring him, to notice..

The boy was inspecting his every feature, his sharp jawline, his almond eyes that held darkness alone, his skin smooth and unlined as if made of pearl.. He looked surreal..

???

If you intend to stay in the ground, then I'm leaving..

That voice snapped Jungkook back into reality as he saw his hand in front of his face.. He quickly grabbed it as the man pulled him up.. Jungkook dusted some amount of dust sticking on his clothes and immediately decided to thank this handsome man..

Thanks for saving me.. ouch!

Jungkook felt a stinging pain on his elbow, only to see that he had bruised himself when he fell.. The man looked at the bruise, and in the blink of an eye, harshly held Jungkook's elbow and saw it closely.. sniffing over it..

Uh, um, what are you doing mister?

The man smirked when he got the scent of Jungkook's blood. He retreated his face from his elbow and looked around the boy. A devilish smile adorning his face..
