Chapter 3: Doppleganger

"UGH! Where the hell is he?!" Wei Lan shout in anger AND hunger.

"Mom I'm hungry." Fei, the name he told to Lan, whine and rub his stomach.

She sighs and internally planning on killing that stupid guy. 'He told me he will go out and look for food. It's been 3 days and still no sight of him. The food I gathered runs out already. Ugh! When I see him I'm going to kill him!' she promise to herself and gather her things and the boy.

Looking around the town Lan adjust the cloth in her face that hides her face. Why? The three of them are now wanted, mostly her since she is the one that set the slaves free.

Taking out the brush and ink and also the papers she steal from the people at the bar she paint one of her masterpiece, a beautiful terrain. She wave the art in the air and introduce herself as a master painter. Immediately the people run to her asking her to paint them in exchange for golds.

She was painting when a big, ugly woman drag her and Fei into somewhere and throw them down. When she look up the sight shock her to the core. The person standing in front of her is a woman.

With same looks at her, minus the mole she had between her eye brows. They could be mistaken as twins!

"Bow down to the prince!" The big woman shout and push her Lang to the ground. But wait did she say prince? isn't she a boy?

Wait prince is a title for crown prince and princess in the book.

"Hm. I heard you make very beautiful paintings. Show your skills to me and draw." The prince says the. she signal the other women to take something.

"Draw him for me and I'll make sure you'll get out of the palace alive and with big rewards." Then the women drag an very handsome guy with long raven Hari and pale skin. He was wearing a long black robe and his hands are hand cupped.

"I understand your majesty."Lan look at the poor guy in the corner of her eyes.

"Don't you think it's rude to not show your face in front of your prince?" She says with a cruel grin in her face.

Wei Lan pov.

I stiffen when she finished her sentence and I unconsciously put my hand in my mask. Her eyes follow my movement and if possible her smile grows even wider and cruel.

"What's the matter?"

"I--" I couldn't finish my sentence when two of the guards hold both my arms and the other take my mask off. I lower my head to hide my face in my long locks.

"Raise. Your. Head." She shouts and the woman in front of me for me my face to look up and all their faces morph into shock.

"Y-your face..." the soldier stutter and let go of my face and the 2 woman behind me also let me go.

I rub my forearms and glare at all of them. I pull Fei closer to me as I think of an escape plan.

Suddenly the prince laughs. She laughs so loud the other in the room flinch.

"Good. Very good." she stand up and walk up to me. I took a step back and pull Fei behind my back.

"I could use your face."
