Adia The Dragon Rider
Her name is Adia Enchanted there is nothing special about her even if you go deeper into the story you’ll find nothing special about her. The only that can be called special is that she’s a dragon rider. Dragon riders are rare, extremely rare. The last recorded dragon rider was 401 years ago. That’s how rare they are. They are people who ride dragons, but they aren’t called dragon riders they are called contracted riders. Let me tell you the difference between them. You see dragon riders are chosen by the dragon. A dragon chooses who he wants as a master they both share a special bond a bond that can’t be broken unless one of them dies and therefore known as dragon riders. Contracted are people that ride dragons that wish to do a contracted with them and are fully trained adult dragons.
Adia lived alone in a small cottage within the forest. Every day she walks an hour to a small town. She doesn’t converse with anyone besides the town mayor and an elderly couple she helps that give’s her necessary things to survive. Adia’s parents died when they went in the forest to go hunt. They were crushed under a landslide when a bunch of rocks came falling she was 10 when it happened, now she’s 17. She and everyone from the age of 17- 23 get tested for magic affinity.
Adia didn’t want to attend she knows there’s nothing special about her. Nothing at all. She’s a boring forest girl with no friends. But the chief dragged her to the town square and have an adult monitor her so she doesn’t run away. “Thank you all for allowing me to be here again. My name is Catherine Stringer the 101st principal of Spellwork Academy. Anyone from the age of 17-23 please stand in line and place your hand on the ball to test your magic affinity as you all know the affinity magic color we will now call upon each student by name.” The lady finished as everyone started lining up. Adia went to the very back of the line hoping someone would break the crystal ball so she wouldn’t have to go up there.
She stood for 2 hours no one broke the ball. 3 A Ranks and 2 S ranks. “Do I have to?” Adia asked the principal. The principal gave a warm smile and nodded. Adia sighed and placed her hand on the crystal. The crystal shined pink, black, Azure, Green, the colors kept changing it went faster and brighter each second until it shattered.
“Impossible.” One of the crystal ball reviewers said as the other looked wide-eyed at Adia. Adia turned around and walk off the stage. While everyone was still in shock she used that opportunity to run home. She got to the quiet cottage and fell on the bed “There’s no way I’m that strong. I don’t want to go to the Academy.” Adia said to herself as she looked at the ceiling. She prepared herself a meal after an hour of letting reality sink in. She finished eating and decided that she’ll take shelter in a nearby cave for a few days until she was certain they left her village.
Grabbing her large duffle bag with everything she knows she’ll need. She wore her green shirt with camo pants and heavy-duty boots. Walking deep within the forest she stopped by the cave she was familier with, she knew something lived in it she always talked to whatever lived there without getting answeres back. "Hello, I'm back again… I was choosen this year to go to that academy aperently I'm very powerful… I- I don't want to go. I don't want people to judge me because I know nothing. I've never been to school before. The chief taught me somethings himself but I'm not confident. I've always been alone I don't know if I'll make any friends… umm I'll be staying here with you for a few days." Adia said as she took her candle out of her bag. She set up the candles around her to get a little heat as she took out a blanket and pillow to sleep on "I'll sleep early so goodnight." Adia said into the unknown.
