Falling Between Lines

Falling Between Lines

Chapter 1

Risha Miller, an innocent girl who lost her family at a young age was raised into a savage tigress by her grandmother.

She didn't grew up into the girl who bent for others. But rather the one who made others bend for her.

On her 18th birthday which was just this year, her grandmother passed away, and she became alone but not lonely. She had a passion for writing and reading novels, especially poetry. After her grandmother passed away, she began living at her friend's house and lead her life from that place.

Apart from everything, Risha had one wish which he knew definitely could never come true yet her mind kept roaming around that one thought — She always wanted to have a love story of her own like those in fictional books. But she knew that it was only her fantasy and it would not happen... atleast not in this world.

One normal day, she went to a bookstore for buying a new book since she finished her last one. She was humming while walking on the road when something caught her eye. A crowd had gathered at a place near, curiousity caught her.

She went closer to see what was going on and with great struggle she finally moved through the crowd, the scene made her sigh.

"Never knew that people could be this dumb...", She muttered in boredom and pushed back out of the chaos.

It was actually a dead puppy on the road which was the cause for such excitement of people, and Risha hated dogs. She thought of it as an exaggeration when so many people gather at one place to see a thing that she doesn't like. It's like she thinks the world must revolve around her and only her. But conscience always got more of her, it always reminded her that this is not fiction.

...TIME SKIPS...

After a lot of searching, she finally found one book that suited her taste and started rustling through the pages before closing it shut. She bought that book and headed back to home with relief in her mind.

"What a day! And I still have no one to talk to.", she whispered loudly making heads turn.

"Oops...", she chuckled awkwardly and quickly ran away.

She sat on her table that she always used and opened the book to read. The sunlight that entered through the curtains of her window casted a soft glow on her face and the book.

She loved how the characters always had twists and turns in their life but still the ending was always happy even though not clear sometimes. Reading was what mader feel that silence is not alone, it is the loudest inaudible chaos in one's mind.

Risha hated the most when someone disturbed her during the time she is reading because she prefers to rather not be paying attention to other things when towards a book.

"Is this possible in real life too?", she whispered and inhaled sharply before turning another page.

"Can I have this too?", she said as suddenly a tear rolled down her cheeks from her moist eyes which she immediately rubbed away.

"Ugh, no drama today, Risha. Not again. You're supposed to be strong."

A deep exhale.

"You're raised for it.", she said to herself before turning her attention back to the book.

She was a fast reader, like... REAL fast. And the book was of only 300 pages. She finished the book in less than 3 hours and stretched on her seat.

Just as she was about to close the book, a light emerged from the book who's pages started flipping back and forth rapidly.

The light emerged out bright and engulfed Risha into it. And before she could figure out what was happening, her vision blurred into darkness.
