As soon as Velrin reached his room, he collapsed onto the bed, exhaling in relief at the familiar scent of home wrapping around him. His eyes drifted across the room before settling on something hidden beneath the bed.

He reached down and pulled out a photograph he had secretly stashed away. It was an old picture of him, his brother, and Zarek- but his brother’s face had been carefully cut out, leaving only Velrin and Zarek. He traced a finger over Zarek’s image, a small, secretive smile tugging at his lips.
