Shen Rui was determined.

Today, he would not let Gu Yan get the upper hand. No flustered stammering, no blushing, no giving in to his Omega body’s betrayal. He was the CEO. He was the villain. He was—

“Good morning, CEO Shen.”

Shen Rui nearly tripped over his own feet. Gu Yan was already at his desk, suit crisp, hair immaculate, and that maddening calm expression on his face.

“Why are you always here before me?!” Shen Rui blurted.

Gu Yan raised a brow. “Because I’m competent.”

“Competent my—” Shen Rui bit his tongue. He could practically hear the system laughing.

> “Host, you really should be grateful. He’s the ML and you’ve got premium service—early mornings, freshly prepared documents, and bonus eye candy.”

“Shut up,” Shen Rui muttered under his breath.

The day passed in strained silence, but by evening, the tension in the air was so thick Shen Rui felt like he was suffocating.

Everyone else had left. Only he and Gu Yan remained in the towering office, city lights glittering through the glass windows.

Shen Rui gathered his briefcase. “I’m going home.”

“Not yet.” Gu Yan’s voice was firm.

Shen Rui froze. “Excuse me?”

Gu Yan stepped closer, sliding a file onto the desk. “You need to sign this contract. It’s urgent.”

“I’ll do it tomorrow.”

“It’s due tonight.”

Shen Rui glared. “You planned this, didn’t you?!”

The Alpha’s lips curved, ever so slightly. “Maybe.”

Before Shen Rui could protest, the automatic lock clicked. He glanced back—the office door had shut tight.

“Did you just lock us in?!”

Gu Yan’s gaze was steady. “A CEO should finish his work before running away.”

Shen Rui’s stomach did an Olympic-level flip. His body screamed danger.

He swallowed hard. “You—you can’t just....I am you CEO who pays you salary ".

"Open the door for me or else am gonna fire you"!!

"System: you can't do that host if you fire Mr handsome how will you achieve your mission "!!!

[" what can't you find me another person to finish the mission with this guy is annoying ".]

"System: NO WAY".

Shen Rui banged on his desk in frustration." ugh what ever ".

am not going to make it this chapter long because am lazy.

But I hope the people who are going to read my novel to enjoy it and please inform of an error you will encounter, because am sure I didn't write everything will correct punctuation and English because I was using not book to write this but when I tried posting it on mt the words were not 500 so I had to find more ideas for this novel to extend.
