chapter 3
The morning sun crept in through the floor-to-ceiling windows of Taehyung's sprawling penthouse, casting a warm glow over the opulent furnishings and illuminating the dark circles under the young man's eyes. Taehyung had barely slept a wink, his mind awhirl with thoughts of the diamond heist and the man he held responsible - Jungkook.
As his maids bustled about, preparing a lavish breakfast spread, Taehyung dragged himself out of bed, his lithe form clad in nothing more than a thin, white silk shirt that left little to the imagination. The shirt, unbuttoned at the collar and with sleeves that fell loosely from his shoulders, offered a tantalizing glimpse of the soft, rounded curves of Taehyung's br*asts. Unaware of the alluring sight he presented, Taehyung padded out of his bedroom, his bare feet sinking into the plush carpet.
Downstairs, Jungkook sat in the cavernous living room, his dark suit a stark contrast to the airy, light-filled space. He had arrived mere minutes before, his entourage of guards and advisors trailing behind him like a shadow. The maids and staff of the Kim mansion, well-versed in the dangers of crossing the mafia king, scurried to attend to his every need, their hands shaking slightly as they poured his coffee and offered him delicacies from the breakfast spread.
Jungkook's eyes flicked up as he heard the soft padding of footsteps on the staircase, his gaze landing on Taehyung as the young man descended into the room. He took in the disheveled hair, the red-rimmed eyes, the lips that bore the unmistakable marks of a restless night and a broken heart. And he saw, with a jolt of surprise, the soft swell of Taehyung's breasts, barely concealed by the thin, silky fabric of his shirt.
Taehyung, lost in his own misery, was oblivious to Jungkook's scrutiny. He came to a halt before the mafia king, his arms crossed over his chest, a look of wary suspicion etched onto his handsome face. "Jeon Jungkook," he acknowledged, his voice rough from lack of sleep and emotion.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of your unannounced visit?"
Jungkook rose to his feet, his tall, muscular frame unfolding with a grace that belied his dangerous nature. He took a step towards Taehyung, his eyes hard and assessing.

"Kim Taehyung," he replied, his voice a low, rumbling growl. "I've come to set the record straight about your little diamond predicament."
Taehyung's eyes narrowed, a flicker of anger sparking in their baby blue depths.

"My little predicament?" he repeated, a note of bitter laughter in his voice. "You mean the predicament where my diamonds were stolen, and you were the only one with the balls to pull off a stunt like that?"
Jungkook's jaw clenched, a muscle ticking in his cheek as he fought down a surge of annoyance.

"I did not steal your diamonds, Taehyung," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "And I have proof of that fact."
He nodded to his assistant, Mr. Sung, who stepped forward, a sleek tablet held in his hands. He handed it to Jungkook, who flicked through the screens, pausing on a series of grainy black and white images.

"Recognize this man?" he asked, holding the tablet out for Taehyung to see.
Taehyung leaned in, his eyes widening as he took in the image of a man he recognized all too well - a low-level thug and member of a rival mafia gang.

"That's Lee Jae-yung," he said, his voice tight with shock and betrayal. "He's a two-bit crook who's been trying to muscle in on my territory for months. I thought I had him under control..."
Jungkook snorted, a sound of pure disdain.

"You thought wrong," he said, his voice dripping with contempt. "It seems your little empire has more cracks in its foundation than you realized. Lee and his men struck while you were distracted, and now they've vanished into the wind with your precious gems."
Taehyung's hands clenched into fists at his sides, his nails digging into the soft flesh of his palms.

"And I suppose you're telling me this because...?" he asked, his voice tight with suspicion.
Jungkook's eyes narrowed, a look of confusion and a hint of concern flashing across his face.
๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
"Because I don't want you accusing me of a crime I didn't commit," he said, his voice low and intense. "And because I have a feeling that if we don't work together on this, things are only going to get worse for both of us."
Taehyung's eyes widened, a flicker of surprise and a hint of fear in their baby blue depths.
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
"Work together?" he repeated, a sound of disbelief in his voice. "Why would you want to do that? Why would the great Jeon Jungkook lower himself to align with the likes of me?"
Jungkook's gaze turned hard, a look of cold determination settling over his features.
๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
"Because, you little fool," he growled, his voice shaking with a emotion Taehyung couldn't quite define, "if we don't stop Lee and his men, they'll only grow bolder. They'll strike at us both, and we'll be left to pick up the pieces of our shattered empires. I won't let that happen, Taehyung. I won't let anyone threaten what's mine...or what could be mine."
