Chapter 3 — The Unexpected Encounter part 2
Aradhya Sharma
*Pauses, glancing over her shoulder*
Shaurya Chauhan
*Walks closer, smirking faintly*
Shaurya Chauhan
You didn’t really thank me, you know
*Casual but insistent *
Aradhya Sharma
I did, didn’t I?
*Raises an eyebrow *
Shaurya Chauhan
*Steps closer, lowering his voice*
Shaurya Chauhan
Not really. A simple ‘thank you’ isn’t enough. How about we talk for a minute?
Her friends exchange glances.
Sanya
Just talk to him! What’s the harm?
*Whispers playfully*
Meera
Yeah, it’s only a minute.
*Giggles softly*
Aradhya Sharma
*Hesitates*
Aradhya Sharma
There’s no use. I don’t know him, and I have work to do
*Whispers back*
Shaurya Chauhan
*Smirks knowingly, folding his arms*
Shaurya Chauhan
I’m not a stranger, you know. We could be friends. *Smoothly*
Aradhya Sharma
*Shakes her head politely*
Aradhya Sharma
I am sorry I usually don’t talk with people I don’t know *firmly*
Aradhya Sharma
*Turns and walks away with her friends trailing behind*
Shaurya Chauhan
*Stands frozen for a moment, his smirk fading, eyes locked on her retreating figure*
Shaurya Chauhan
We’ll see about that, Aradhya Sharma
*Mutters under his breath*
Aradhya Sharma
*Sitting on a corner table, books spread out, focused on her notes*
Shaurya Chauhan
Hey Hi
*Leans against the edge of her table*
Aradhya Sharma
*Glances up briefly, then lowers her eyes back to her book, flipping a page*
Shaurya Chauhan
Are you busy?
*Tilts head, smirking faintly*
Aradhya Sharma
*Remains silent, her pen scratching across the page*
Shaurya Chauhan
*Sighs, pulling out a chair and sitting across from her*
Shaurya Chauhan
Look, I know you’re not thrilled about me, but I think we should at least talk. Maybe even be friends
Aradhya Sharma
I told you. I don’t have time for this. I don’t even know you.
*Lifts her eyes, annoyance flickering*
Shaurya Chauhan
*Smile falters*
Shaurya Chauhan
*leans forward slightly*
You don’t have to know me to be friends, Aradhya. Friendship is built on trust, and I want to get to know you.
Aradhya Sharma
*Bites her lip, uncomfortable*
Aradhya Sharma
*Notices students around them sneaking glances and exhales sharply, shaking her head*
Aradhya Sharma
I’m not interested, Shaurya.
*soft but firm*
Shaurya Chauhan
*Freezes for a second, his pride stung*
Shaurya Chauhan
Really?
*His voice lowers, stripped of confidence*
Aradhya Sharma
I don’t think it’s right to offer friendship just to get something out of it. I’m sorry, but I can’t accept *soft*
Shaurya Chauhan
*Fists clench under the table, jaw tightening*
Shaurya Chauhan
*A flash of humiliation burns through him — something he’s never felt before but forces his expression into calmness*
Shaurya Chauhan
*Standing slowly*
Okay, Aradhya. I guess I’ll respect your decision.
Aradhya Sharma
*looks at him silently*
Shaurya Chauhan
*Turns, walking away, but inside, his chest burns with rejection. His eyes darken as his thoughts swirl*
Shaurya Chauhan
I’ll make you change your mind, Aradhya. You just wait and watch
*Muttering under his breath, almost as a vow*
