At the table—pancakes, butter melting. You try to eat, to act normal.

Phones down during meals.
You force a smile, but your phone buzzes on the table. Everyone notices.

Your fork clatters.
Family stares.

You shake your head quickly, shoving phone away.
But heat creeps up your neck—not just fear, but something dangerous… attraction.

He texted during breakfast.
He described EXACTLY what was on my plate.

But twisted: your name woven through lyrics.
Customers turn, glance at you.
Heat floods your cheeks.

You grab Mira’s hand.
Her eyes widen. She finally sees it too—proof.
Then, the barista’s voice over mic. Except—it isn’t his voice
Everyone laughs, thinking it’s a prank.
But your skin crawls. It was his voice.

Ok that’s NOT normal.
We’re leaving.
Outside café, cold night air. Mira paces, worried.

And say what? That some hacker is serenading me thru speakers??
They’ll laugh

On way home, streetlights flicker. You can’t shake the feeling eyes follow you. Not human eyes. Something woven into signals, screens, air itself.

Your phone screen glows.
Your reflection in glass shows your lips moving. Whispering.
You swear—you weren’t speaking.
